This looks like it won't conflict with MMJ or AF, which is good news. I clearly don't mind missing some Eminem to see either Dr. John show. I'm thinking Desitively Bonnaroo LN Saturday and the Superjam Sunday either before Robert Plant on the What Stage or closing a tent.

As much as I'd like for there to be something to see other then Eminem during his set, as the number one headliner I would think he's going on completely unnaposed. Also, I'm pretty sure the super jam is usually either friday or saturday night so it likely will not be on sunday.
Uh-oh. I'm starting to fear that Superjam will conflict with SCI. That would bum me out but I would have to do Superjam. How can you not? I was hoping SCI would go against Eminem cuz I think that would leave fewer people conflicted.
I recently took a trip to New Orleans for my cousin's bachelor party. I was bumped to first class with a buddy (the airline over-booked Coach, and for the first time in my life something good happened when an airline screwed up), so we took full advantage of the complimentary booze. So, long story short, we got hammered and loud. The guy behind us (in the best bayou accent I have ever heard) went "damn, ya'll kids are wild". Turned around, and who is sitting there?
Dr. F-ing John. I was dumbstruck and could only muster up a "wow, that's a pretty sweet cane (and then called him "Mr. Dr. John").
In all seriousness, one of the coolest living legends I'll ever meet. He was cool enough to let me and my buddy hang and talk to him after the flight for a few minutes. I asked him about Roo, and said he's on my "must see" list and he just looked at me, winked, and said "that's prolly in your best interest, my man".
I take that as him saying things are going to get downright silly at Roo. Cannot wait.

This is the most surreal experience I've ever heard of. I would have seriously shat my pants. What a fucking cool dude.
I have also decided that there is no conflict that will make me miss the superjam. Like, NONE.

That is one of the coolest things I've ever heard!! And kudos to you for keeping your cool enough to talk to the man. I would've passed out on the spot, I think.
im not into funk-ish music at all (which is weird cause I'm a bassist) but I really want to see this. will he jam a lot when he does desitively bonnaroo?? its kind of a short album. i feel they'll have to drag it out somehow
I read the post about Bonnaroo being coined from the french terms Bon and Rue and found a post on wiki describing the same thing. The story I read before is "To the cajun population of New Orleans, the expression desitively bonnaroo has come to mean "better than the best." It supposedly originated among the inmates of South Louisiana's dreary Angola Prison, located on an avenue called Bonnaroo. If you were on that street and not in the prison, it was desitively bonnaroo." Not sure what is correct? Anyone else know?

I'm going to dress up like a parrot and dance my ass off for this show. So, so excited. I got all my Roo friends to start listening to Dr. John, so if you see a parrot hanging out with Abraham Lincoln then you'll know who I am.

Most excellent!! I'm thinking of buying some green and gold iron-on letters and making a purple t-shirt that says either 'QUALIFIED' or 'QUITTERS NEVER WIN'. And of course I'll be wearin my stingy brim. Man oh man I can't wait!!!!!

I'm bringing my 19 year old cousin to the Farm this year. We're looking at the list of artists at Easter this year and he goes "Who the quack is this Dr. John character?". Then something along the lines of this occured:
My 18 year old cousin (we're more like brothers though) and his friend are coming with us this year. I got them both to start to listen to Dr. John. All our rides are extra funky now.

So they are playing from 12:30 - 2:00 on Saturday night. That's going to be awesome. And you know they'll play a couple songs not on the album.....unless they really stretch it out and jam.
