I read somewhere some guy saying the new album is supposed to be out in March 2011. I also saw they have a show at an Atlantic Records store 3/19...hmmmmm.
I have tried for years to get behind these guys albums... I really can't get into their studio output. However, I saw half of their show at Roo in 09 and it was pretty entertaining.
If I do go this year, I'll try and check them out again.

I had "waiter you vultures" back when it was new, like... 4 or 5 years ago, i think? For some reason, I never got any of their other records, but after watching that video for "people say" that was posted in here, I feel like I need to do some catching up.
Been givin' these guys a chance finally (don't ask why it took so long 'cause I don't know). Enjoyin' what I've heard (a handful of songs, suggestions are welcome [and/or I will look through the rest of this thread soon]).
i remember i saw these guys back in 2008 opening for Rx Bandits. pretty small show at the soapbox in wilmington, NC. but i remember it was a pretty entertaining opening act. i'm going to make an effort to see their show this year, i'm interested to see how their live show has matured over the years, especially with such a big audience. from what i've been reading in this thread it seems like i'm in for quite a show.
Does anyone have any soundboard or high quality live PTM? I bought SoHo but I'm itchin for some more live stuff. Didn't even know if there was any out there.

They didn't even headline at soapbox! That is crazy I go to school in Wilmington and visit the soapbox a lot. Would love if they came back to play
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Yeah, I was working the stage Portugal played at the 35 Conferette and hung out with them a bit, Ryan said they were playing Friday or Saturday during the day, and agreed they would kill a late night set if they had one.. but they don't.
sad to hear it but I'm sure they'll kill a tent show. i have a feeling they'll be back in the future for a late night spot.

thats actually good because I dont think there will be anything going on in the day besides, god forbid, Ray LaMontagne that would pull me from this show

I agree that it'll probably be easier to skip other things. Late night is tough because there's usually like 3 or 4 things I want to see happening at once.

I stumbled onto them in 09 and they killed it Thursday night (along with MURS and Passion Pit). Too bad they won't have a late night, but I'll still check out their show for sure.

Our situation is almost the exact opposite. I was considering going to lolla 09 and attending the PTM show. I didnt go but i did research the band
I started with Churchmouth and now, about 2 years later. i cant get enough of them and just bought AMerican Ghetto. good album.
I dont see how you arent into them by now. you saw part of a show, heard their album music, man i say maybe its just not your cup of tea
I will be front row center for this show. Bittersweet about them having a day show. Most any concert is better at night, but it make for less conflicts.

i really dont see them not having late night as a big deal at all. some of the best shows ive seen at bonnaroo were in tents during the day. theres a certain intimacy about tent shows during the day that i like. Jeff Beck at sunset in a tent is one of the most unbelievable things ive ever witnessed.
