I would think if that if they delve into some of Neil' solo work they would likely include at least a couple Stills solo songs as well. Love the One You're With and maybe a track or two off the Stills-Young album.
Sweeeeet. While this may take some of the "oomph" out of them playing Roo (not really), I'm very pumped we'll get a taste of what kind of setlist they'll be bringing to the farm. Fingers crossed that they plug in.

Also gives them time to practice and work out any kinks they may have or start developing some stuff.

Alright, so maybe it's slightly disappointing that Roo won't be their first full length show in over 40 years, but it is good that they will have a chance to brush up first, and hopefully this means a bigger tour with a few nice Northeast dates.
Buffalo Springfield song > BS song > BS song > Neil song > cover song > BS song> neil song> bs song > neil song > cover song > bs song > bs song > cover song > neil song > bs song > bs song
something like that, I'd say.
For the benefit concert they did in 2010, they played all BS songs until the end, when they did Rockin' in the Free World with other guests. I'm not too hopeful of hearing much Neil solo stuff. Too bad he's not doing a solo set at another point in the weekend.
1. On the Way Home 2. Rock & Roll Woman 3. Child's Claim 4. Do I Have to Come Right Out and Say It 5. Go and Say Goodbye 6. I Am a Child 7. Kind Woman 8. Burned 9. For What It's Worth 10. Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing 11. Bluebird 12. Mr. Soul 13. Rockin' in the Free World (Encore)

Those shows never last too long, we'll know more about what their Roo set will be like after their first show this year.
I will be at Mountain Jam in New York so they are out for me and the prices are a bit high even if I could make it. The extra practice is great news for the Bonnaroo show though.
Can Neil Young still put on a decent show? I saw him in a show on paladium a while back and he looked/sounded ROUGH. he's getting pretty old isn't he?
Blasphemy! I saw him in 08 and it remains one of the most rocking and energetic shows I have ever seen. Buffalo Springfield was obviously far more subdued but without a doubt a great show. I imagine it will be even better with electrics.

Dylan's been like that for a while. Neil Young has been rocking for as long as I can tell. He calmed down a tiny bit around the time of Prairie Wind but then started rocking his ass off again after that.

No doubt about that when it comes to Dylan... he was struggling when I saw him in 1992!
Neil's a whole different can o' beans though. Cannot wait to see him burn it up.
Hey...long time lurker here. I have so much fun reading these boards I figured I'd create an acccount.
That Rolling Stone article mentioned Neil mostly let Stills and Furay handle vocals on the songs, do you think this means we won't get many Neil solo songs mixed in their set?

I think we'll still get a few Neil songs but I wouldn't bet on like half the set being solo stuff. It's a good chance we'll hear Neil singing at the farm.
Oh he will definitely sing, but expect each song to be sung by its original singer even if Neil wrote it. I honestly seriously doubt he is going to do any songs that aren't Buffalo Springfield songs. I think the golden nugget that we should be hoping for is Broken Arrow.

Totally agree.. Broken Arrow would be great and probably the highlight of the show if they play it
