This. There's really no way to try to convert. I used to detest the guy, but he grew on me like a fungus down below and I do enjoy some of his music nowadays.
What's a good website to make a mix on? I know one was floating around here before. I'm going to throw together a mix of nothing but my favorite Weezy tracks and see if it does any good.

I love me some Weezy mixtapes, but good god does he have a pretty horrible live rep. Maybe you'll get one of the good ones, but he's kind of the Dylan of rap.
What does quoting a classic verse from a rapper pretty unquestionably seen as either the best or second-best MC of all time have to do with anything? Biggie ain't playing Bonnaroo man, get over it.
I'm going to go in the Buffalo Springfield thread, post snippets of their lyrics that suck, then post John Lennon songs that are much, much better.

Love that site! It puts my favorite genre in perspective.
And yes, I'm mocking him. He's possibly the most overrated artist in music today. No real skill set, more misses than hits on songs and albums, perplexing lyrics at times, and a noted poor live performer. He's full of gimmicks and plays the the 15 year-old suburban teen angst.
You do realize you can cherry pick quotes like that for just about any artist, right? Not just hip-hop, but any genre.
As for the Wayne hate...no minds are going to be changed here. You either like him, or you don't. It's that simple.
yet he has sooooo many on that site, and the authors of that site are actually unbiased - as they have no loyalty in the hip-hop genre.
I can also turn on a Lil Wayne album and "cherry pick" ridiculous lyrics in all of them if I wanted to torture myself. It's just too easy.

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHA
Bone Thugs? The clowns who "rapped" in harmony like a barbershop quartet and were seen as a joke by pretty much everybody? Really?
See you at the crossroads! So you won't be lonely! I LOVE YOU GHOST OF EAZY-E!
You realize you listen to Lil Wayne and therefore cannot have opinions right?
That seems like a terrible idea though. Seems like preheadlining for Eminem is a safe spot for him. Lower the chances of creating a Kanye like situation.

You realize you listen to Lil Wayne and therefore cannot have opinions right?
You realize that your opinions of Lil Wayne show how close minded you are, and ignorant to ignore that talent that man obviously has. So therefore, your opinions mean nothing. Right?
Not liking Wayne is one thing. Telling me Wayne doesn't have any talent is like saying If i put my hand in fire, it won't get burned.
Wayne late night just seems like a mistake to me. At best, it's a conflict waiting to happen. If I am to believe some of the people here, he sucks live. Really, I don't want any hit or miss shows late night.
There are a lot of places he could go, but I have no idea where he will end up. First thought was that he would be a reasonable opposition to Arcade Fire or Buffalo Springfield, but I doubt he could be anywhere but What stage.

Def won't be doing that. Weren't we told Black keys will be Pre-headliner. Unless insider was wrong. Late Night is perfect for him. Either that, or sometime in the early evening.
Does he have to play What Stage? He could be on the Which?

I don't understand why you keep trying to make your point to me. You listen the worst music ever made in the history of man kind, why would I listen to you? Lil wayne is a sure sign of the apocalypse.

I don't expect you to listen to me, I'm sure I listen to a lot of the same stuff you do, so I guess you must as well. I wouldn't expect someone who's ignorant to understand that they are ignorant, they don't have the brain capacity for it.

DMB, the only better live band is the grateful dead from 69-74.
So I don't know that you should be talking about other people's opinions.
I meant that, I've seen a few shows over 100 or so and DMB is the best show i've ever seen. So i'm sticking to that. I mean their prome was 1997 to 2003 but i'm stickin to that.

Here's the problem with putting Lil Wayne late night. Ideally those sets are reserved for guaranteed home run acts. If an act is even slightly off, people bitch endlessly about the time waste.
And like I said before, I like Lil Wayne's stuff, but he's got a reputation as a flake and not the best live performer. In fact, I would argue if you looked up and down the lineup and said who was most likely to create a Kanye like PR nightmare for you, Lil Wayne is at the top of the list.
So with that in mind, I would say the wisest thing is to put him in the pre headliner slot on the What Stage regardless of what Insider said about The Black Keys. Which Stage closer could also make sense especially if the plan is something like: The Black Keys > Buffalo Springfield > Eminem

Woah. WOAH! Little Kyle here has plenty of brain capacity - he listens to DMB:
