What about Foo Fighters? A trip to space could mean nirvana's potential of being the biggest band in the world, thwarted by a freckled lad's (kurt cobain) demise. The watershed moment being had that not happened the watershed moment, foo fighters formation.

Apollo 13 launched April 11, 1970. Paul McCartney officially announced his departure from the beatles the day before. Paul McCartney's first solo album was released April 17th, the same day that apollo 13 came home
Could it be Rush? 2112 is a Rock Opera in space in which the protagonist finds a guitar behind a waterfall then kills himself after he is hunted down by the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx. The album was a watershed moment for Rush.
I've never listened to much Rush, so forgive my ignorance, but...REALLY? That's the most ridiculous sh*t I've ever heard. That's worse than Kanye West's Glow In The Dark tour where he fell in love with his spaceship's computer or whateverthef*ck that was. Jesus, Rush is corny as hell.
Haha. I know it doesn't sound that great the way that I explained it, but you should give it a listen before you throw it aside. It's a great album. Also, I don't know if you like The Who, but Tommy was about a death, dumb and blind boy who could interpret sensations as music. Also, he was really good at pinball and he thought that if he made everyone blind, death and dumb then play pinball that they would reach enlightenment. A lot of Rock Operas have stupid stories.

I know I've been on the twitter and facebook and heard it first announced. Maybe I've had too much coffee but I thought I heard it differently the second time around. Hopefully they announce it again.

Hahaha. I felt the exact same way. I love Kanye's music, but when he started talkin to a computer the whole time, I thought to myself "This motherfucker's gone crazy!"

I got to say, Macca as first clue, no way, but it works. The Apollo story works with the first part of the clue. And deciding to leave the Beatles for a solo career is def a watershed moment.

"As the patron of Delphi (Pythian Apollo), Apollo was an oracular god—the prophetic deity of the Delphic Oracle. Medicine and healing were associated with Apollo, whether through the god himself or mediated through his son Asclepius, yet Apollo was also seen as a god who could bring ill-health and deadly plague. Amongst the god's custodial charges, Apollo became associated with dominion over colonists, and as the patron defender of herds and flocks. As the leader of the Muses (Apollon Musegetes) and director of their choir, Apollo functioned as the patron god of music and poetry. Hermes created the lyre for him, and the instrument became a common attribute of Apollo. Hymns sung to Apollo were called paeans."

Gary Sinise (Ken Mattingy) has his own band. I believe they are called the Lt. Dan Band or something like that. Could be as easy as that. I would buy that as a first clue.

I thought I heard it differently too. Maybe we're both just hearing things? Or wishful thinking.
