Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was thinking that Apollo is the connection you have to make to Bonnaroo. Which is why I chose Apollo Sunshine, because i was told they played the first Bonnaroo in 2002. In which case if you look at it from the standpoint
Apollo = A Space trip thwarted by a speckled lad's demise. (Ken Mattingly's APOLLO 13)
Apollo = A watershed moment otherwise (Apollo Sunshine @ 1st Bonnaroo)
I'm kind of leaning this way too. Mostly because it would make a lot of sense for them to book acts that played the first Roo for their 10th anniversary. In a sense, going back to their roots. Their....bonnaroots. (Sorry, I had to)
Alright, so that would scratch that then. Never assume that people who give you information know what they are talking about. We've learned that a couple times already this week.
I think that the phrase Reagan made famous was "trust but verify." (Possibly in relation to the USSR. God, I hope that this doesn't lead us back to Gorbachev or Boris Yeltsin!!!!)
I was looking at Plasticpepper's archives, and saw that DJJD didn't start helping until four days after the first clue dropped last year. And by Katie's tweet, I would assume that she is not the one in control of creating or releasing any clue info. She made it seem like she was waiting for hints to give out for Clue #1 from someone else.

I just don't like the no communication part of it. The clues are fun, but if we don't get any sort of confirmation when the right answer has been reached then we just end up going in circles forever. It would be different if they clues weren't so off the wall and had semi-definite answers, but clues such as this are pretty open.

I felt the same way, but when I saw that it took DJJD 4 days to give us any communication, I was wondering why I felt that way. It's only been two days. We'll see what happens. I'm sure she has plenty of tweets from inforoo members asking her questions about the clue. I sent her one. We'll see if she answers any of them more directly.
It wouldn't really do much if they tweeted that a correct guess had been made. There are so many different guesses in this thread, twitter and facebook that we would never be able to decide which was the correct answer.

True, but I also thought that last year we didn't get a clue until the previous was solved. I may be wrong though.
^^^^ Naw, last year we got 7 clues between Jan 20th-23rd. A couple clues came out, and then DJJD started helping us with them. Then we got a huge burst of clues, and they just piled on from there. Over twenty clues.

Hmmm, I'm still not sure about the whole Apollo theory (or set of theories, as it may be). It's entirely possible, I mean there have certainly been times in the past when we finally got the answer and all sort of went "...um, what?" ("The chairman of the board, after the birthday party" comes to mind as a major "what?!" clue!)
Basically....I don't think the Apollo theory makes perfect sense, but I will admit that not making perfect sense doesn't mean it couldn't be the answer.
I'm just not clear on what the "demise" would be. If the trip to space refers to his personal trip, then it's thwarted by exposure to measles and I don't think that really qualifies as "demise." But if the trip to space refers to the mission as a whole, then I don't see how it was thwarted by his demise at all. Even if you take demise to just somehow mean him being unable to go, I'm not seeing any way you can say that him not being there caused the explosion. (If you CAN somehow claim that, forgive me, I don't know much about the whole incident.)
Plus I feel like that theory doesn't really make enough use of "A watershed moment otherwise." You can come up with some vague connection, but really if that was the basis for the clue why would they bother adding that second sentence? It wouldn't really serve much purpose.
And now I shall start the process of sifting through these 45 pages to finally update the website!
2008 Allman Brothers Band has to cancel their trip to Bonnaroo due to Greg Allmans treatment of Hepatitis C (speckled). It was a watershed moment as many were let down to the news and AC had to announce another artist that April. Caused Panic and Jack Johnson to switch spots. This i feel could be a clue for the return of the Allman Brothers especially since they played Bonnaroo early on. It also doesn't focus on death rather than a blip on the band's radar.
I'll put this up again as someone else mentioned it. This makes sense as demise does not have to tie in with death or utter catastrophe. It makes very good sense that this clue could tie to Gregg Allman band or the Allman Brothers. I'm sticking with this idea...now c'mon 2pm
Clues with no hints. Kinda like having balls and no d!ck ain't it?
Epic as quack. Cocos x 1,000
If letting people believe the answer to this clue is Gregg Allman will allow us all to move on from that which we will never solve or never know that we've solved, I'm cool with it.
