I read it literally first but mis-applied it to the Daft Punk equation, in which 'I'm (e) not in the car" made no sense. When I applied it to him not doing the clues this year, I thought that unlikely.
But saying that he isn't the one who pulls the trigger on when it starts makes more sense. Thanks board! (Especially Pepper and Leon)
However, to suggest that DJJD does not run words together, misspell them for a device or use anagrams -- especially in responses -- is to ignore history.
In truth, it would be too early to confirm or deny Daft Punk most likely. Paul Simon was an anti-clue last year just a day or few before the line-up dropped.
I might be guilty of jumping the gun. But I wouldn't be the first one on inforoo to do so. :-)

so Rolling Stones - Daft Punk - Furthur - My Morning Jacket - Arcade Fire - Widespread Panic Paul Simon - Oysterhead - Lil Wayne - Robert Plant & Band of Joy - Black Star - The Mars Volta
edit: includes appearances by U2 members as that only explains the tour dates. And, and, and Radiohead.
I'm too drunk to try and think about what this seriously means, cause usually when DJJD talks, you need a codex to figure out what he's talking about, but I'm just gonna stop speculating. It's only a month and a half anyways.
^^Oh my god. I laughed so hard at that. I'm such a nerd.
I'm very pleased with the development of a William H. Taft troll. Also, I have new idea what DJJD is talking about and I'm not even gonna try to figure it out. Is it noteworthy that he said "high phive," turning an "f" into a "ph" i.e. Phish? Probably not, right?
