I think The Cure would play a great Bonnaroo headlining spot. They'd love being able to play for as long as they wanted for one, and it definitely would be a chance to convert a lot of people. That said it probably won't happen.
Bishop what's wrong with Sasha? I've only heard great things about his Roo set with Digweed and apparently he was really good at some of those huge raves in Cali like EDC this year.
Again, just not my bag... it started my distaste for the typical Roo dance act. I'm picky as all get out when it comes to electronic/dance music, so if you're especially fond of the type, take my criticism with a few grains of salt, at least.

To be clear, I am pretty picky in regards to electronic music as well. There's a lot of dance music that a lot of people like that I don't--a few that come quickly to mind: Deadmau5 (although his set at Roo wasn't bad), Pretty Lights (x 1000), Disco Biscuits, Tiesto, etc.
And I, too, am a little bit cautious of the over-the-top electronic stuff. I just think there's a subtle, more self-aware edge that's hard to pinpoint in regards to Daft Punk that makes them miles better than a lot of their contemporaries. That's just my opinion, though; I could see why you would not like them.
Another good example of that kind of thing, to me, is Chromeo. Yeah, it's cheesy, but they know what they're doing just enough to where it's catchy without being gimmicky. To me.
Used to not care for Chromeo, but after the Daryl Hall & Chromeo set, I totally got it. But I hadn't heard them for a decade before I made my opinion. I had however with Daft Punk, and I don't think there's much to change that opinion. But I do see how it could tap into someone's nostalgic side or emotional side.

I missed that Daryl Hall & Chromeo set...I can't say that I regret that decision, because Flaming Lips were my 2nd favorite set of the weekend (yeah, I know, their live show is stale and redundant at this point, but I hadn't seen them before, so it was fresh to me) only to LCD. That Friday night was perfect, definitely my favorite night of the weekend. But, I really, REALLY wish I could've seen Daryl Hall & Chromeo. If only that was sched'd at the same time as Deadmau5.

I still can't believe how good they were.
Flips were probably amazing as well, no matter how much they frustrate me by ignoring some of their best material, they still put on an outstanding show.

I still can't say I regret seeing the Flaming Lips. One of the best touring bands around, and that was my first time seeing them, and it really blew my mind. But I'm sure the Black Keys and DH&C sets would've been one of my tops of the weekend, too. Friday was just way too loaded this year. Definitely would've been great if Black Keys and DH&C were Saturday instead, but oh, well.

plus, i've seen the black keys before. they are truly amazing live. black keys/flaming lips conflict was kind of inexcusable. chromeo, i get, because there aren't a lot of flips fans who are chromeo fans, probably, but i feel like flips and black keys have pretty similar fan bases. oh, well...
I figured DH & Chromeo would be fun, but it turned out to be the tightest playing behind Jeff Beck's band all weekend. Totally blew me away, and in the 5 years I've gone probably the most pleasant surprise of a set I've seen there. Anyone I talked to who saw it held in high regards, as well.... Friday sure was a crowd pleasing night.
No doubt it was the biggest conflict of the weekend. Second would be putting Mumford and Avetts against each other. I was glad I went with The Black Keys, but I wasn't as sold on what followed. We got there early do that we would be close/closer for B.o.B. and Cudi was horrible. Black Keys was one of my favorites though.

The way my buddies and I did it, we caught the Flaming Lips' first set (the set of their own material), then, when they went on intermission to prepare for the DSOTM set, we took off (around 1:15 or 1:20) and jetted over to the end of Bassnectar to try to get close for LCD. We somehow snuck our way in beside the soundboard while Bassnectar was still on (there were 3 of us) and then when a few people inexplicably took off after Bassnectar finished, we made our way all the way to the front rail for LCD. It was surreal.

Stooges would be awesome. They could feasibly be in a tent though. I'm not sure where they are billed at other festys, but at Virgin Fest in Baltimore a couple years back they didn't even preheadline the "smaller" stage (it went Taking Back Sunday, Iggy + Stooges, STP, NIN)
The thing with Black Keys, Flaming Lips, and Daryl Hall and Chromeo was that if you were at any of them, you were seeing a hell of a show. Really no clear wrong answer. I saw the first seven songs of DH&C, and went on to the Lips. The Lips had only made it to Yoshimi, and I stayed there 'til the great gig in the sky. Then I peeled for LCD, but Crystal Method diverted me for a while. I got to LCD just in time. It was a really amazing night.

that is pretty awesome, not gonna lie. i was wayyy at the back of the crowd for LCD and in the end i just decided to go with my friends to B.o.B and catch them when they came through Atlanta

idk I saw the FLips do pretty much the same show (- dark side) twice this summer and found things I had missed in the previous show but were awesome in just about every song. I mean you can pretty much focus on any part of the stage and find something extraordinary.
Still can't believe they put Black Keys at that late night spot with so many conflicts. Hopefully they were eluding to a White Stripes late night this year.... without the brutal conflicts!!
I'm glad I watched the Lips, now I don't ever have to see them again.
This.
I've only seen them at Roo '07 and '10, so forgive me if I'm wrong. Wayne's ramblings just irritate the hell out of me. It's sad when you enjoy the taper version of a show over the live experience. Maybe it's just me but I prefer the albums over seeing them live.
mojo, I'm not sure that it's wise to refer to The Flaming Lips as "little boys" on a message board that's chock full of Flaming Lips fans. Galactic may be stronger at their instruments but, in my opinion, they don't have a single song as catchy as some of the Lips' best tunes...and I like Galactic, quite a bit.
your night would have been even more awesome had you not seen Flips OR DH&C but instead made the correct decision to see The Black Keys
Missing the Black Keys has been a regret but I had to do Flaming Lips which was excellent. My theory is I'll get other chances to catch the Black Keys, especially if my husband has anything to say about it.
Also, I'm not sure if Thievery Corporation fits the electronic definition but that show was fucking amazing! First time I've seen them.

You've not been here very long. Otherwise, you'd realise it doesn't matter and many actually agree with him.
Flips in 07 was absolutely stupid. Turn Your Audience Away 101, tought by Wayne Coyne.

You were the second person yesterday to list Pretty Lights among disliked electronic music, which was a little surprising to me. I've always enjoyed his shows and so has everyone I've gone with. I'm not trying to start an argument, I guess I'm just curious as to what turns people off to his music? If it's just not your thing, I understand that too.
