I realize we are not done, but the additions in the last few years have been severely lacking, which is why I'm not getting my hopes up.
The last time they actually had additions that were worthwhile was in 2006, when they added Claypool, Oysterhead, Bisco/UM interlocking and Sonic Youth. Since then the additions have been piss poor imo.
I don't know, the last second Superjam with JPJ in 2007 was a pretty cool addition IMO. But yes, I agree with your sentiment overall.

right. Not saying ALL the additions have been piss poor since then. But it's only been 1 or 2 a year since 2006. Up through 2006 each round had stellar acts. Hasn't been that way in a long time. It's usually just 3rd tier fluff, and maybe 1 great act.

Amen. Nothing major since '06. There might be room this year, but I'm with you, I'm not holding my breath.
.... sorry for the rant but all this complaining is killing my roo vibe...... heres my take on the line-up... If you don't like it...........DON'T GO! Go to waka and stfu. You have to have horrible taste in music to not give this line-up any credit... take out the current "headliners" and this line-up almost gets better. No matter who plays roo it's going to be a party. The only way waka>Roo is if your a smelly gate crashing phish fan.... and thats fine just stop complaining and go find a waka forum so you can all talk about how awesome it is to not shower. I love music so I know I will have a great time with or without you....

Yes, this IS the 'how do you feel about the lineup' thread - take it or leave it it's asking for the honest truth whether you like it or not mplsroo. I'm happy that you're going to have a great time though! I am just fine about it. I admit I am a tad disappointed not to see Young or someone I haven't seen in the headliner status, but maybe it will leave me more time to see other things! I said over in Jess's thread, but I'll put it here as well....last year my worst miss was Yeasayer but I was at NIN so I couldn't miss that. Maybe I won't have that conflict thing so much this year. OH, same with the Beasties/Byrne conflict - argh! I went to the beginning of Beasties and made it to Byrne for the entire show....I was happy with my decision. I myself am loving Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck and John Fogerty! Those classics for me will be highlights! Anyway - carry on....I'll be there dancing!!!!

I've been to 06 and every year after, and barring some major additions, i think that this will probably be the first year i dont make it down to the farm. I personally feel that this is far and away the weakest initial lineup announcement, and echoing what Gouge said...I feel like the people expecting a big add like NY or Waters are probably setting themselves up for disappointment.
Not to say there arent some shows that will be awesome, i can definitely spot a few (FLips, Bisco, Jeff Beck, Stevie). there really just isnt any act there for me to get all worked up over. Who is going to play a "legendary set" a la radiohead 06, MMJ 08, etc? I just dont see it on the bill.
I totally understand the awesome undercard argument, and Bonnaroo, will as always, excel here...the only problem is that most of the mid-level bands that id like to catch will play fests like Waka and Allgood (for half the price!)
Hope everyone thats going has a blast. Hope there are some BIG additions to get me to buy a ticket...just not holding my breath. Give me Radiohead/Zep/Phish FTW in '11

Ooohh....I first went in 06 as well, and this will be my fifth year too - I will enjoy it for the both of us! I really agree with those who say there are a bunch more bands coming. I think this is a great beginning lineup. I'm sad that you won't be there!
This lineup definitely needs Pavement. It is the hottest, most anticiapted tour of the summer. Neil or Roger Waters would make a lot of people happy. Also, need is another big jam band. Jam bands aren't my thing, but for the sake of keeping the Bonnaroo failthful excited. A few relavant mid-tier acts with albums coming out this year would seal up this lineup. Here is my formula for making this Bonnaroo great 1. Keep this lineup 2. Pavement 3. Neil Young / Roger Waters 4. Jam Band (You decide, I couldn't tell you who is big in the scene) 5. A hand full of the following: Spoon The Strokes Arcade Fire Beach House Hot Chip Deerhunter Titus Andronicus Vampire Weekend of Montreal Interpol Liars Ted Leo MGMT Panda Bear Hold Steady Surfer Blood No Age New Pornographers Gorillaz

I thought that the name of this thread was "How Do You Feel About the 2010 Line up". Doesn't that mean we can/should express our feelings about the lineup either positively or negatively? People have as much right to complain about the lineup as they do to praise it. That's the whole purpose of this thread...isn't it?
Me...I'm meh about it. I think it's one of the weakest lineups that Roo has come out since inception. This year would make my 4th Roo, and most likely I'll still be there because of the pretty good undercard. But where is the jam? I think this lineup is severely lacking in that dept.
This lineup sucks!! There is no real headliner. I could see 10 concerts for this price and see a lot better bands. You cannot compare this lineup to the previous ones. Does anyone want to buy my ticket for $250.00?
You might not like Dave Matthews Band or Jay-Z, but both are definitely headliners. And while some of us would argue Kings of Leon aren't headliners and others will argue back Stevie Wonder isn't, both acts seem to be filling up arenas these days....
I'm pretty disappointed by the top of the lineup. Its the weakest top in a longggg time. Since at least 04 or 05.
That being said, if a couple of big names get added near the top (one of them probably needs to be a headliner), the middle/undercard is so strong that I could potentially be really excited about this lineup.
If not, I probably won't try to go.
I think we only need a couple of names to make this a VERY good lineup for the majority.
Roger Waters and Explosions in the Sky or My Morning Jacket or Portishead.
And with the other additions in what I expect to be the mid-range, This could turn out to be a very solid year, but we do need a couple of names near the top for this to not be extremely disappointing.

i'm not going to say that the lineup isn't good because it does offer several artists that I want to see. However, I am very dissapointed with the lack of jam bands.
i'd say this is by far the best middle of the lineup since i've been going ('06-'09), as i have over 40 bands i'd like to see. the headliners are all pretty good, and i'd like to see some of all of them, which is more than i could say for bruce and phish last year. i think dave is going to be a lot of fun, kings of leon (ignoring their sell-out status) is still a really listenable band, and jay z might be the best hip hop show i will have seen. stevie is stevie, and i wont make him a priority, but jeff beck and john fogerty are musts.
the late nights are what really excited me last year (NiN, pretty lights) and this year should be unbelievable. jay-z possibly, flaming lips, deadmau5, lcd soundsystem, neon indian perhaps, maybe some entrance band on thursday night, thievery corp has a shot...
even though none of my all-time top 10 bands are on the list this year, i still rated it as "blown away!". add roger waters, thom yorke, arcade fire, or grizzly bear and it will be untoppable
the undercard is good but not great, the headliners are insulting, the lineup release method was absolutely terrible, and AC mentioning all those huge acts on twitter is even worse.
White Denim - 8/13-14 Power of the Riff - 9/1-2 Bruce Springsteen - 9/19 & 9/21 Gonjasufi - 9/24 Jay Z - 10/4 Animal Collective - 10/5 Swans - 10/10 GWAR - 10/16 New Order - 10/18 Squarepusher - 11/1 Bassnectar - 11/18 Neil Young & Crazy Horse - 11/27 Bonnaroo 2013 - ???

I'm very, very, very dissapointed and depressed. This is not a bad line-up, as far as line-ups go. It's very unimpressive for a Bonnaroo line-up. But the biggest problem I have is it's just not worth $270 total to see this line-up. Nothing appeals to me strongly enough. The only thing that would make me consider going is just because it's bonnaroo. If I saw this exact same line-up was playing down the street for say $125, I'm still not even sure I would go. My only motivation is that this is BONNAROO and I've been dreaming daily of coming back to the farm. I so NEED that. But I really need one big draw, something I really like, to justify paying the money. And it's not there. Honestly, based on this line-up, they should be lowering ticket prices. I'd consider paying $150-$200 total. Maybe I'll pick something up off craigslist.
while there are a lot of bands that i would like to see on this lineup, there is not enough pull to get me to drive a whole day and miss almost a full week of work. most of what i would like to see im sure will end up in austin or houston, or are playing coachella. happy for the people that are excited for this lineup, as it will still be an amazing time.
if i were a lot closer to roo, then i would be there in a heart beat

98 confirmed stage/tent shows, last year we had 102.... Not a lot of room for more stuff unless they add a stage.

almost 250 votes. about 150 think it's OK or better. About 100 are meh or worse. That's a 3:2 ratio. 40% of the people on this site think it's an unappealing lineup. That's probably the most that's ever thought that.
