I've already seen all the jam bands that people were wishing would be on the lineup. I didn't even notice because all I saw was 25 or so shows I'd like to catch this year.

the lineup is different. personally, last year blew the lid off it for me. Phish was awesome and the depth of the entire lineup thru all 4 days was re-diculous... I was going into this whole thing thinking it would be hard (nearly impossible) to top 09'. So when the lineup dropped, i was expecting a dropoff. but what i got was a little more of a fall than i had even prepared myself for. Im sure alot of the unknown bands are gonna end up being awesome, but in my opinion, we've come to expect more from ROO and this just doesn't seem up to par. dont get me wrong, im not crying, claiming to be owed a debt by anyone, i just cant see shelling out my precious moneys (hundreds and hundreds by the time it's done) for less than greatness. cuz lets face it ROO is unlike anyother fest out there in alot of ways, but you definately pay for it at the gate.
It will be weird not being on the farm for the first time in a 5 years, but the time are indded a changin.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
That doesn't even make sense. You're saying this thread belongs in 2005, but the lineup was full of jambands that year. Why would anybody ask where the jam was then?
Yeah. 2005's amount of jambands kicks 2010's ass. Widespread, Dave, Trey, ABB, Ratdog, Gov't Mule, YMSB, The Word, MMJ, Benevento/Russo, Karl Denson, Particle, RJD2, Perpetual Groove, etc. This year's got Dave, Disco Biscuits, Lotus, and Bassnectar.

^Positive or negative? I'm guessing negative since they catch so much flack around here. But there's literally no jam this year so the hell fire you speak of would have no basis.

^Good point, although I'm not a Dead fan.
:runs and hides:
I will say Lesh >>>>>>Bob Weir. Just my opinion, don't kill me.
I think the hate for Widespread more comes from just what you said, though: that they headline too often, not that they're not any good. I don't really know too much by them, but what i've heard sounds really good.

I'm not a huge jam fan anymore, but from what I've seen at shows Lesh and friends was better than Weir and ratdog.
I don't really have a side on all of this, but I can see why jam fans are pissed at this lineup. Just like I can see why hipsters are pissed at this lineup, and why everyone in between is pissed at this lineup.
