Bisco is a band that jams, but to me it sounds pretty much like Electronica most of the time, which is fine if you are into that sort of thing.
Genres are kind of hard to argue, but with a band like Bisco electronic music fans would say they aren't really electronica, and jam fans will say they aren't a jamband. I think they fit more in with the jam scene though.
^That is certainly true they are part of the jam scene more than anything else. I just meant to my ears they sound a lot like electronica, also I get bored with 4/4 time after a while.

You don't speak for me no-d...oh, wait, yeah you're right.
I think Bisco is a jam band, just on the electronic end of the spectrum. Leftover is way over on the bluegrass end. Galactic does funk among other things, and UM does whatever prog thing that is they do, but I think they all count as jam bands.
The problem with this festival isn't lack of jam, it's lack of a top jam-act. Where is Furthur? Where are The Allman Brothers? And where the quack is the incredible headliner that's supposed to seal the deal for all of us?

this all sounds so subjective. if someone asked me who was playing bonnaroo that i thought a jam fan could get into, I'd probably say Franti/Spearhead, Ween, Galactic, Claypool, Umphrey's McGee, Disco Biscuits, MMW, John Butler Trio, and Lotus for sure. Are all of those jam bands? I dunno, but they definitely seem like part of that whole thing to me.

My friends and I are in the same boat (and my friends are HUGE jam snobs). Especially after lineup additions yesterday we feel that there is plenty to keep us busy. The argument of not liking some of the bands or thinking that some "don't belong" (I'm not singling anyone out) is stupid. You can only possibly see so many bands in 4 days. Barring scheduling difficulties, pick the "vibe" you want and go with it.
