Don't get me wrong. There are a lot of good bands in the initial lineup. But damn, it IS Bonnaroo. Does anyone besides me think that they are really lacking in the jamband dept? Based on this lineup things are really starting to shift at the Roo.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
This is only 1/2 the lineup. Sure the rest will be a lot of cafe acts and such, but we're still going to get John Butler Trio and I can't imagine that will be the biggest name in the 2nd round.

So I just counted right now we have about 90 announced stage acts, and 8 that are confirmed but unannounced. Last year there 100 stage acts in total, I think we have most of the lineup for the stages and tents at this point, none of this seems like cafe stuff.
Jam bands are seriously lacking. We need Furthur and MMJ. Or at least SCI.
Hell I'd kill for Gov't Mule at this point. Definitely one of my favorite shows last year. I've been checking out other festivals all night. Wanee is looking pretty good to me.
Roo looks like hipsterfest IMO. Between now and June I gotta start cutting my own hair, drinking PBR, and riding a fixed gear bike. Anybody wanna sell me a ukulele?

Ukphan huh. cute. too bad there are no good "hipster" bands on this lineup. Now go drink your Amberbock while listening to to Before These Crowded Streets while hitting on your girlfriend's fat friend.

Will do. BTW I'm just having some fun because I'm terribly frustrated right now. Like I'm sure most people are.
And I'm not a DMB fan in the least. Big reason I'm not going to Hullabalou. I see you are from Bardstown. I'm from KY myself.
Been a long time since I last posted here. Went to 'roo in '07 and Rothbury in '08 looking forward to going to a festival again this summer. Was all jacked up for the Rothbury lineup only to find out Rothbury is canceled for this year. So I turned my attention towards 'roo. I actually like some of the initial lineup but man where the hell are all the traditional festival jam/blues rock bands Im used to? DMB, KOL, Dead Weather, Black Keys, Jeff Beck, Fogerty, and Blues Traveler is a nice start but 'roo definitely needs to add a few of these bands listed below to get me to travel 10+ hours and spend some of the little cash I have on the tickets/trip.
-Neil Young (Thought he was for sure at Rothbury obviously thats not going to happen then I thought he was for sure gonna be at bonnaroo hopefully he gets added as a much needed headliner)
-Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, Allman Borthers, Solo Acoustic, any or all of these would be nice)
- Derek Trucks - Davy Knowles - JJ Grey - My Morning Jacket - Ben Harper - Umphrey's Mcgee - Moe. - Keller Williams - Grace Potter - Citizen Cope - Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Black Crowes - Zappa Plays Zappa - North Mississippi Allstars - Ween - STS9 - Dead Confederate - Kenny Wayne Shepard - Backyard Tire Fire - Jackie Greene -

Drink micro's. It's better. Trust me. And nothing wrong with fixies. I've been riding one for 10 years now. Beats my car that constantly breaks down and guzzles way too much gas.
I don't have a ukuelele for sale but I do have a trumpet. My wife drives me crazy with that thing.
Honestly it's more roots than anything. Light on hipsters and jam and electronic and hip hop. Heavy on country and bluegrass. Which is ok with me.
There are other fests. I suggest everyone either broaden your musical tastes or pick another f*cking festival.

Lighten the F up. I WAS JOKING. How many times must I say this.
You don't know anything about me and my musical taste. So please stop trying to sound superior.
And I completely disagree about being heavy on Bluegrass. I love bluegrass, been to Poppy Mountain several times.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I don’t think Bonnaroo is going in a direction of having no jam bands. Last year was a pretty jam heavy lineup. Maybe they could not get the jam bands they wanted or maybe they are going to announce some in the additions.

This makes no sense, because the "jam bands" absolutely killed it last year. Anyone who was at that moe. late night set, you know first hand that afterwards, you weren't the same. You were changed.
And Mule, hot damn that Southern Man with Grace Potter was a groin-grabbingly good time.

Sorry if I am coming off harsh. I'm frustrated with this board and I took it out on you. I'm not superior. I'm a guy that is sick of people whining about how thier favorite band isn't playing. I saw later your other post. Your right. I'm wrong. Sorry.

My first Roo was '05, with WSP (x2), DMB, Trey, ABB, the Mule, Herbie, The Word, Galactic, MMJ, Keller Williams, STS9, the Duo, Umphrey's, Ratdog, and others. But someone up there at Superfly/AC has decided to go a different direction. I'm still going, don't get me wrong. And I'm going to have a blast. But I can see a point where Roo begins looking a lot like Coachella East and, at that point, I'll stay in state.

Just don't talk about fixies, and we're cool.
Hate to sound like one of those whiners but no one band makes or breaks a lineup for me, However a lineup with no imagination does............................There are more than just single minded people angry about this lineup.
