Hopefully any rain at 'Roo will be far less frigid than what they've experienced in Stockholm. After tonight's final Stockholm gig,and 2 more in Norway, they'll likely be ready for some Bonnaroo sunshine come the weekend...
Various posters have mentioned they'd like to hear Lost In The Flood at 'Roo.Don't know how likely it is,but he played it by request on Night 2 in frigid Stockholm.Amazing version...
On first glance tonight's 3rd Stockholm show would appear to be one of,if not the best,on the WOAD tour.Definitely the longest show, clocking in at about 3 hrs 10 min...
Haven't seen any vids yet,but on paper this is major drool worthy...

Fade Away was last played in 1981,on the River tour in Indianapolis. And how's this for irony, when Bruce played my hometown of Indy,I was living in Germany.
I had planned to go to the River show in Frankfurt (Germany),but ended up missing it.Didn't see my first Bruce show till '85,on the European leg of the BITUSA tour.
The vids are showing up,hopefully someone got a great copy of Fade Away.here is a pit shot of a very energetic Night...
I was never a big Bruce fan until I saw him when I was in London. He opened up solo with Born in the USA acoustic. I could see him starting it off that way at the Roo.

if tony danza and bruce are in the same place, who's the boss?
I will have posterboards and markers left over from an earlier show at my campsite,if anyone wants to make signs. There is a group of us Bruce fans who will be camped in the access area, and I believe we will have a huge flag for Camp GreasyLake with pictures of Bruce and Clarence on it.
Feel free to drop by and visit,I'd love to meet any of you.We are hosting a party following the Bruce show, which should last past the late night shows as well, and all friendly folks are invited. For anyone not going to late night Sat shows, the plan is to meet about 1:15 A under the Arch, and move to Camp GreasyLake from there. (more info on BTX).You can also check out my FB page (Tim Tomlin) or the Springsteen Bonnaroo 2009 FB group to get more info
I will look for the giant flag and I will party with you guys for sure!
Looking at recent setlists from Europe it really looks like they are really hitting their stride performance wise, and setlist wise. If what they're doing in Europe is any indication then Roo is going to be Epic.

Sweden in particular went Bruce/ESB crazy over the past 3 nights. All of the major newspapers and tv stations were practically shadowing the Band wherever they went, and Swedish Tv broadcast snippets of all 3 shows...
And Bruce responded in kind to all the Swedish love, playing 3 straight 3 hr shows, addressing the crowd in Swedish, and laying some absolutely magnificent performances on them. Here is Fade Away, which as mentioned previously hadn't been played by the Band in over 25 yrs...
Garth Algar: Do you ever get the feeling Benjamin's just using us?
Wayne Campbell: Good call. It's like he wants us to be liked by everyone. I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.
So here's the story about Fade Away and my never ending quest to get it played. Back in 2005, due to Bruce acknowledging my request outside the hotel in Gothenburg, it was played for the first time in 24 yrs. A fantastic, soulful version with an inspired Bruce on the Devils & Dust-tour.
Now, great as that was, I still hadn't heard the song in a band version. As a matter of fact, very few people have, since it's not been played with the E Street Band since 1981.
Now last week, I got the opportunity to interview Little Steven (an interview which i posted here. After the interview we discussed Steven's favourite Bruce songs, and he told me they were Restless Nights, Held up without a gun and ... Fade Away. I told him Fade Away was my favourite aswell and that they really should play it during one of the three Stockholm gigs. Then he said "I don't think we've ever played that song". Knowing that's not true, I had to remind him about the version they played on the River tour with the instrumental intro. He nodded his head and said "Yes, your're right, I know someone played that version for me sometime". Pretty funny.
So I told him again he had to convince Bruce to play it, he said he'd do his best. Before he left the radio studio, I urged him once more. He laughed, but said I had great taste.
Come the rainiest gig I've ever been to on the 4th. They didn't play it.
Come a rainfree but cold gig on the 5th. They didn't play it.
So as I got to the line outside the stadium on the 7th, my hopes were slim, but I still made a big sign for Fade Away. On the back I put Tougher, which I can't believe they're not playing more often. I thought the chances of getting Fade Away played were so small, I had to put something on the back of the sign with a greater possibility of being picked.
Then, five hours later came the holy shit moment of the day. The soundchecked started at about 4.30 and I hear Bruce singing "Well now you say you've found another man who does things to you that I can't" and my jaw fell to the ground. I showed my sign to the people standing in line with me and they started cheering. I was absolutely shocked, but happy. I now knew there was a chance.
So the show starts, and before The River, Little Steven sees my sign, notices me and starts rolling with his eyes towards Bruce, implying (as I interpreted it anyway) that "it's cool, I've talked to him".
Then during the sign collecting, Bruce didn't see my sign at all. It sucked. But after Mony Mony, Steve saw my sign again, and poked Bruce to get him to see it. Bruce saw it, laughed and said something to Steve and washed out his arms. Then they started Trapped. As soon as that song was over, Steve looked down at me, gesturing with his arms to quickly get my sign up in the air again. He once more poked Bruce in the side, and now finally Bruce gave in.
So Bruce runs down, collects my sign specifically, and starts telling a story about how this is Steve's favourite song and all, and that we should thank him for getting Bruce to play it. And so they start the song.
Songs I would kill to hear bruce play once: Open all night Loose change Seaside bar song Incident on 57th street Spare parts Part Man, Part monkey (already saw this on the devils and dust tour, but didnt fully appreciate the awesomeness of the song then) Backstreets (My favorite song from my favorite artist and I have YET to see him play it) Cover me
If he plays AAAAANY of those songs, I'll be stoked. But I know for a fact that even if he doesnt play them I will not be dissapointed in the set list (Unless he just plays lucky town and human touch back to back lolz).
Garth Algar: Do you ever get the feeling Benjamin's just using us?
Wayne Campbell: Good call. It's like he wants us to be liked by everyone. I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.
Nope. He's only played it 7 times since 1985 and the Born in the USA tour (no, I didn't know that off the top of my head - there is a website to look such things up) and only a few of those times were at regular shows. Definitely not high on my list of songs I want to hear, but I know it is one lots of people know and would be cool. I never realized that it was an outtake until quite recently though.
I agree with whoever said Backstreets. It is the one song that I haven't heard live that I most want to hear.

They say eve tempted adam with an apple Man I aint going for that I know it was her pink cadillac Crushed velvet seats Riding in the back, oozing down the street Waving to the girls Feeling out of sight Spending all my money on a saturday night Honey, I just wonder what you do there in the back Of your pink cadillac
