Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am going to bring mine but not sure if I'll bring it into Centeroo. I think I would get tired of carrying it around after a while. I got a cheap one from the sports store to excerise with and I also taught my dog to jump through it
I never mind carrying mine around. It just sits on your shoulder so well. Plus, it's a lot better carrying it around than making the dash back to camp because you just have to have it! (I did that a few times too)
My friends are really into hooping. One of 'em teaches a hooping class in Alabama. If you're anywhere near Pell City you should check it out, cause it involves black lights and awesome music. She also makes her own hoops and can custom make them too. Let me know if you want to get in touch with her, she can teach anyone.
I for one will probably bring a hoop to Bonnaroo this year.

Can you PM me her info please? I REALLY want to look into that.
I'm bumping the hooping thread because I can I went to the Shpongle show and unfortunately couldn't get hoops in....but that was okay, because I got to chat with a girl who performs with them! She gave me lots of cool pointers and of course when she was on stage I was mesmerized and was a complete nerd and watched her hooping the whole time. It was cool to see someone hoop in person and totally motivated me. My goal this week is to learn 2 new tricks! I want to be fairly decent by Bonnaroo ;D
I can't do any tricks, really. I can at least just stand there and hoop, but ehh... where's the fun in that? I'm definitely gonna have to go to those classes more often, hah.
We hoop chicks should all meet up at some point, though. ^_^

Oh, and Lara of SuperHooper in Georgia said SuperHooper company will be giving free hoop classes from 6-8 p.m. at Such 'n' Such and I believe she said it would be Thursday - Sunday so we could possibly meet the hour before and then those who want to take her class could jump right in! And I'm definitely down for teaching tricks, as are most hoopers, so if you see someone rocking a great trick, ask 'em how to do it :-)
SaFire's two off-the-body to waist tricks, the duck-in and drop-on...although I like the duck-in a lot more
I am thinking of making a new hoop this week, when I get money, and definitely getting a glowstick one soon My poor boyfriend is gonna kill me, I pester him SO much about hooping. But it's okay, considering he pesters me all the time about glowstringing! I always joke that we are the circus couple...he glowstrings, and I hoop ;D
Gnossos, if you decide to go to the hooping class, let me know! Perhaps we could meet up or go together?

I love the duck-in! If you don't happen to get it before Bonnaroo, I'll show you the duck out too. I love it cause I can whip the hoop off my waist with that one!
LOL, your boyfriend and my boyfriend should talk....I pester my boyfriend about hooping too and he usually ends up helping me with assembling hoops, which we were doing last night for a couple of glowstick hoops that were ordered. The cool thing is he doesn't mind too much and he can even recognize some hooping moves. I will one day get him into doing the off-body tricks like Rich from Isopop!
I just finished my LED hoop and of course my camera batteries died! I'm going to take some pics tonight with fresh batteries. I bought a "nice" one last year which has crapped out on me. I'm going to rewire it and see if I can get it working again though.
On another note, I am trying out my hoop choreography skills for the first time, and I'm really happy with how it's coming along. My goal is to have it finished and perfected by the time my bf gets back in town in early June so I can make him tape me and have my first hoop video. Wish me luck!

Oh, wow, you made yours? I haven't made an LED hoop yet; mine was my 25th birthday present from the boyfriend -- he researched and told me to pick out what I wanted, so I got a PSI hoop. My friends want me to start making them though even though they don't hoop. :-)
Let us know when you get a video done! I'd love to see it. Good luck!

I finally got some pics, so I will post them later today.
I was a little scared at first about making my own, but I talked to someone else who makes them, and they were really reassuring. I used this website: prodmod.com/buy/ You can buy a kit with all the stuff, and they have really good step by step directions. I was a little worried about soldering, but that turned out to be really easy. It took me about 6 hrs all together, but I'm sure that's just because it was my first try and I didn't really know what I was doing. I was just so turned off when my first expensive one broke, I didn't want to spend that kind of money again on something that might only last one season.
kahoops, you've worked with the hdpe tubing before, right? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix bent tubing? Mine came all scrunched up in a box, so now I have an oval shaped LED hoop. I'm really good at fixing regular hoops, but this tubing is a lot more rigid than a regular 160psi hoop. It just does not want to budge.

Your hoop is so pretty; I love it!
Yep, I use the HDPE tubing a lot and the heavy tubing has a bit of a problem with being scrunched and not perfectly circular. With that tubing, and this is especially true with the heavy 195 psi, I try to not use the last 6 inches or so because for some reason it's always straight and refuses to bend. for the hoop itself, I heat it a bit with my hairdryer, push down on the part that sticks out and roll the hoop slightly back and forth to slowly bend it back into place. Then I push a bit on a different part and go all the way around until it's more circular.
It will also round out more with use but I feel ya on the annoyance of it being out of shape! Let me know if that helps.
I just finished hippieNaustin's hoop and am completing another hoop for Adriene on the SaFire/Hoop City community later this morning. I'll post photos of 'em once the second one is complete; I just need some sleep. I've been up since 6:30 a.m., stayed up making the second hoop and then testing them with glow sticks and now finally checking my email and boards. Bed, oil change for the Bug at about 8 a.m., finish hoops, post pics....ok, I think I have my schedule ;-)

Oohh, I'd love to take a hooping class at Roo! I've always thought hooping was interesting, but I've never really taken the plunge. Bonnaroo would be a great environment to learn. I remember seeing people with hoops last year near the art of Such n Such but I just thought they were random people meeting up and not a group...

Come join! We'll have meetup some point and Lara's classes, so there would be tons of different people to learn from. I love grabbing a free hoop class so I can learn new tricks, plus the hoopers can all meet each other and make new hoopers outta Roo'ers :-)
kahoops...i can't get those pics to be any bigger. can you post the direct link to it?
I certainly can! And ya know what, I know I answered this earlier today and I think inforoo ate it. Or I forgot I was in preview mode and thought it was posted and closed the browser. Need sleep. This getting up early everyday for overtime is for the birds.
