This is going to be one hell of a Bonnaroo more than likely one if not the best. We have a lineup almost as good as the lineups of yore, plus now they actually know how to run an event on the farm and portapotties with steaming piles 10 inches over the rim and 18 hour lines are a thing of the past. Dude if you want to keep your head in the sand and complain that it is too expensive, not a good enough lineup, just not worth it because you wont give these corporate monkeys your hard earned dollars, well I am sure the ledges will be nice this year. Let me know how seeing Ekoostik Hookah 75 times again this summer goes.
i sure will. ill let you know how 3 nights of DSO goes too. and if ya want i can tell you how badass it is every year with lotus, eoto, dso, buckethead, umphreys STS9, wookiefoot, cornmeal. waterband, steve kimock and melvin seals, keller, grey boy all stars, p-funk, moe., david gans, david grisman, donna jean, wookiefoot, jazzam, papdosio, mickey hart, boombox, pnuma trio, carlos jones, tony rice, yellowman, the new mastersounds, telepath, new monsoon, new riders, hot tuna, JGB, and a bunch more were too if youd like. hookah barely even makes the list of ledges acts. althought they put on a show that almost anyone can appreciate. they are great. they even graced roo with their prescense. back when it was relevant
zzzzzzzz.oh, my bad. I feel asleep reading this. Did someone copy and paste the Wikipedia entry for "Jamband"?
What an amazing lineup! i bet the coachella people are " slightly" upset right now. only 75 Artists announced in the first announcment. about 45 more left! Hoping for F.FOXES MUSE ARCADE FIRE M83 GYM CLASS HEROES AND THE MUSIC as additions

Oh so close-minded and pretentious. Relevant ?? what the hell would you know about what is relevant?? The only bands you like are jambands with a mix of a little bluegrass . And hey I am not saying that I don't like most of those bands in fact I do but that is not ALL I like. Yellowman ?? please.. could you have picked a worse Regaee act he is pathetic. JGB is dead (the band that tours now is a joke)
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

i would say that its closed minded and pretentious to yawn at that list of bands and essentially call them boring jambands. and im just listing the acts that play at the ledges to someone who seems to think that hookah is the only band that plays at the ledges because they play there 3 times a year. i love plenty of other stuff. im not gonna go over it all again but i have seen just about everything and i love most of it.
and the JGB that has been touring has put on some great shows. im not sure where you saw them or what you have found funny about them but they are great. and its pretty irrelevant because JGB isnt there this year. melvin is playing with steve kimock in crazy engine.
What I don't understand is...if one dislikes it, why is one here?
im a left over from the days when roo was roo. most of us have left and you dont hear from us much. its funny how inforoo is the only place on the internet where everyone is gushing about roo. most other festie places people are pretty disappointed about it.

So why, in your opinion, is roo NOT roo anymore? I was at the first one and yeah, it's definately changed. It's a more diverse line up of artists...but that's not a bad thing in my opinion.

Some people on the lollaboard are pretty excited...
well i would just ask people to remember that nearly everyone of "us" loved roo with a passion at one time. and i dont think anyone hates the people that go now. we just wish teh lineup hadnt changed and they still didnt even know about roo is all. most of us were excited about giving roo another chance. some of us really thoguht it was going to be a return to the old. but it seems more like a lets use phish to rape these poor bastaads one more time. i think alot of people thought thta it would truly be a return to the old. maybe have more then 5 jambands. maybe have some jamtronica back or some decent hiphop instead of radio rap crap (galactic will be sweet though im sure) or something. nope. i guess they feel phish alone is enought to get us all back...

if you really thought bonnaroo was going to go back to being packed with jambands, you were delusional.
and really, who wants to see the same old jambands year after year? probably people with a limited scope of music appreciation..

Just as Coachella isn't predominately an electronic festival anymore (like it's first year), Bonnaroo isn't predominately a jam festival anymore. It's more lucrative to have a diverse lineup. Makes the festival better also, in my opinion (not a jam fan)

see it is a bad thing in my opinion. noit so much diversity. but the diversity has all had one thing in common. mainstream media hype and ticket sales. its not about brining in the best music anymore its about what sells tickets. and they didnt just change roo for diversity they abandoned it for diversity. and they jacked the price up insanely every step of the way. and it just not the lineups either. its shakedown suckingass, all the dumb rules about pipes and glow sticks, the shady ass security, the mysterious roo illness that almost kills me each year, the dudes play eminem in the lot all night, garnier fructis makeover booths in centeroo. theres all sorts of reasoning. but i really was excited and though id be back this year because if phish is there then they must have something great to go with it. but its the boss, nin, beastieboys, etc....

Fact is - you know and we know - Bonnaroo is not produced to make the hippies, hipsters, ravers, average joe or anyone happy - it is produced to make money - and they make more money by having a widely diverse line up with popular artists performing.
No - it is not the Bonnaroo of old and it never will be and if you think for one second Phish playing is just because Trey and his buddies wanted to play together again - hell no - they want to make money and this is a quick easy way without having to deal with the production of the whole thing
