I don't think they would get GNR, nor would they want GNR. I love them, but rooconteur is right about not needing another Kanye situation.
While I would love to see them, GNR playing the right set at Roo (showing up, showing up on time, no temper tantrums) seems like too much of a risk for AC to take the year after Kanyegate.
Then again, if they book Phish to play a late night set as one of their headlining slots as has been rumoured and that slot is after GNR, that risk is somewhat mitigated. They could probably step up and start early if needed (that plan might be in place and they may be there already playing with other acts) plus the goodwill that they garner from the disproportionately large fanbase that they will have will wipe that away with little effort.
Could Paradise City be Funky Town?
(LOL... I doubt it. I can't figure out where "mac" would come into play unless it was a reformed GN'R with Duff McKagan?)

Both times ive seen GnR they played on time and for over 2 hours, Axel was a little out of shape but his new bandmates are extremely impressive, they just dont have the big name rep like a Slash would.
Can I get someone to post an update with all the tweets and Mr. Zimmy messages for this clue? I've been out of the loop for a day, and that seems like an eternity because now we're apparently talking about GNR?!?
So I finally caught up reading this thread. What I've gathered is the clue has to be deciphered from one half of these letters: STONGBD (by process of elimination because he alternated A, I, E and R in the different permutations)
So it's in one half of
S T O N G B D
He's also said "MAC in 6: MAC is in funky town, that's where MAC is."

I still think Funky Town is Fort Worth, but since he said close enough for R&R I think that means Dallas may be included to support this MAC suggestion...
The MAC in Dallas would not only be an acronym for McKinney Avenue Contemporary... but it would also be an abbreviation for the word McKinney. I think that still might work.
If we could just connect David Byrne to the word strongbad... if strongbed was what we were shaping... I'd definitely say Eno. But Eno can't be made with strongbd
EDIT: However, both David Byrne and Brian Eno can make their initials from STRONGBD

noo... it's still going to be one half of a 9 letter word...
And I think the spelling without the "r" was a mistake.
He said the answer can be found in all three...that eliminates the I, A and E. I'm not sure about the R.
It eliminates those letters... but if I recall correctly, he said it would be one half of strongbed, strongbad, or strongbid... which would still put the one half at 4. I don't think he said it would be one half of strongbd.

"if it works for strongbad chop, it will work for the other two words as well. The answer is the same, and it's in all three."
So if it's in all three, it can't inclue A, I or E. Maybe R, depending on if that was a typo.

S T R O N G B D - There's some clue in half of these letters
and
MAC is in Funky Town
Also, he said we were kicking ass when GNR was mentioned, so that could either be interpreted as we're doing the right thing by chopping the letters up like that, or GNR is actually partially the right answer or something similar.
