No, that last clue said that the answer can be found in all three, which means we'd have to leave out the "a", "e" and "i", I think. Also, it says less than half, which I'm assuming means less than half of STRONGBD, so that would limit it to three letters.

I left out the a i and e.....BON is part of STRONGBD....then I added the Iver
How bout with half of the letters in Strongbad... you can make up half of the first names of band members in the band The Faces. Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ron Lane.
Reunion On 11 June 2008 Rod Stewart announced that the surviving Faces were discussing a possible reunion, envisioning making a recording and/or performing at least one or two concerts.[11]. On 11 November Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones reunited for a rehearsal "just to check if they can remember the songs";[12] the band's official reunion website was launched earlier the same month.[13] In December bassist Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers left an announcement on an RHCP website that he has rehearsed with the remaining Faces and plans to join them as bass player in the reunion.[14] Wood has stated that Stewart has asked him to write some new songs for an album and possible tour.[14] However, on 22 January 2009, a spokeperson for Flea said that the bassist "knew nothing" of a Faces reunion tour[15] and on 23 January 2009, a spokesman for Rod Stewart denied there were any plans for a 2009 Faces reunion.[16]
To be honest... I know Bonnaroo has had some recent success... but no way they book three headliners (Phish, Bruce, GNR) who would be bigger than probably most other summer festivals' main headliner. I still have trouble seeing them book two top-of-the-line acts...

Did we ever nail down a location for funkytown? He really seems to be steering us there. Urban Dictionary says it is Fort Worth, TX, but that seems strange to me. I've also seen NYC referred to as Funky Town.
This makes it seem like we can remove the 'R'. Note on the last time he quoted he added an 'r' to stongbid so this is not 100%. Just a thought about how i read the original.
