The wife and I overdid ourselves Thursday and Friday walking all over God and creation in search of shakedown and other things. I hadn't gotten much sleep all week and got even less Thursday night. Friday was jammed packed with bands we HAD to see, so by the end of the Metallica set we were pretty well exhausted. But of course we endulged in some party favors right before MMJ. We ended up having to leave about 30-45 minutes into MMJ because we just couldn't handle anymore. We did have a good time back at the tent though, and could still hear MMJ some depending on bleedover from other places.
This was our first year going and we learned a lot about how to pace ourselves. Next year we'll take it a lot easier on the walking Thursday night and during the daytime sets so we can actually make all of a late night.
Sleeping during a lot of the acts on Sunday. I missed Plant & Krauss, Death Cab, and Robert Randolph. I'm really pissed off, but there was no way I could have functioned the rest of that day. I was beat.

NOT TAKING PICTURES... i was too busy absorbing the atmosphere and vibe but luckily i have some awesome neighbors who took a few here and there. Also missing MMJ.

this may not be the worst thing ever... in 2006 i took SOOO many pictures that i was paying more attention to getting the good shots throughout performances, than actually enjoying them! i took my camera out very rarely for that reason this year
missing the brunch being to tired that i missed superjam fighting to stay awake just to see Kanye, when in the end it was a waste and i could have been sleeping didnt get to do the silent disco, arcade, or the ferris wheel not taking enough pictures
Not sure it is a regret but I got lost coming out of centerroo to get some food…close to 2 hours lost…it exhausted me and I was lost / took a quick nap that resulted in me missing state radio. Then I got distracted and missed them again when they were on the solar stage…but that was due to being at another show…But i will catch them another time and i caught such great music...and great times that i am ok with it.

I'm basically regret-free as well, with the exception of that I'd change the people I went with next time.. Me and my best friend had 5 first timers and all they wanted to do was sleep. They slept through all of Thursday night and ALL of Friday night. :[
Wimping out of Tiesto (and all of Friday late night) because of the rain. I took a nap during metallica so I would be ready. I got up at 1:00, got dressed, and started to walk to Centeroo when the bottom fell out. I was soaked and cold about 50 yards away from camp, so I turned around and went back to the tent.
Also, never made it to the Silent Disco. It looked like sooo much fun. Next year!
Sleeping through Pearl Jam so that I'd wake up for Sigur Ros. Alarm never went off. Woke up late enough that seeing Kanye was sort of my only option, which, well, we all know what happened at that point. Quackin' Kanye.

Missing GALACTIC and not trying to sleep some during the day on saturday, becuase i was so tired late night saturday but i still managed to get to PHILS set but i did doze off a couple times, but always waked up liike a min later

Stopping by the karaoke tent to listen to one song, and staying for 2+ hours instead of going to see MMJ or Tiesto.... what can I say, it was dry under that karaoke tent and I was having so much fun dancing and singing my drunk ass off....

OK, I might be making an ass of myself, but what is this stuff about Galactic? Were they the band for Chali 2na? If so, it wasn't on the schedule as such, and I will be twice as pissed about Kanye.
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon
I regretted leaving Pearl Jam early until Sigur Ros started then all the regrets went away. Other than that none. Sucked that my #1 and #2 shows overlapped.
I also regret getting so mad about the VIP bleachers for MMJ. I mean, those are for VIP, right? Maybe I'm wrong, but anyway... The yellow-shirt was letting everybody on, which isn't a huge deal, but they're also supposed to make sure it doesn't get over crowded, which of course, it did. I was up there by the stairs, and people kept crowding in and I nearly had a panic attack cause I didn't feel safe being pressed in so tight, with the stairways being blocked. We got down cause I was freaking out over it (sober, mind you) and then I just got pissy. I totally regret that. Maybe I should have had some beers! Hah!

My regret is all the crap i missed while waiting for Kanye. Which includes leaving Sigur Ros early, Ghostland Observatory, Galactic w Chali (had i have knowon I would have been there). I also wanted to see Willie and the Superjam, but MMJ outwieghs all the negatives. I also didnt get to see anyone from inforoo or go to camp inforoo, i couldnt find it Sunday Night. That along with the silent Disco and the New Orleans tent were my regrets. The Rain Friday night was the best rain of my life and the only shower i took all weekend. That outweighs the regrets.
my regrets would be: taking a friend whom i hadn't spent really long amounts of time with, she is a great girl, but incapable of being alone and not getting lost and/or in trouble for long amounts of time. it really kept the rest of us from being able to split up when we needed. including when we all missed most of MMJ and all of tiesto because she didn't know where we were supposed to meet and had my cellphone the whole time but never looked in her backpack.
also indulging in a special sandwich on thursday when we first got there before MGMT (one of the main bands i was looking forward to). it had been so hot when i set up our tent, i had mostly only drunk water and then during their set i had to sit down more than way more than i would have liked.
though this isn't really a regret, we did have one creepster neighbor who did so many no-no words i can't believe he has any brain cells left. he must've bought something from EVERY person walking by selling something. he even readily admitted he'd bought 10+ tshirts. he also asked my ditzy friend to sleep in his van on the first night and then spent the rest of the time talking about how much she hated him when she declined. i have to say some of the things he said were pretty priceless including telling us that a famous country star was his cousin (which his friend straight up started laughing his ass off when he said that). i guess we were lucky though because our other neighbors were a group of canadian guys and two brothers that helped make our trip for sure.
yay! i can't wait for next year. VIP all the way, and i hope that will = more shows and less regrets.

Not going back to see WSP after we packed up our camp for early departure on Monday morning. Not too bad cause it was loud enough that the thought of bleeding ears down on the field actually entered my mind. My tent was vibrating it was so loud! Saw a little on the screens from VIP, but I should have taken the short walk for a few minutes of a real view. Otherwise, I am all good. Pearl Jam was my number one, I had my eye on that prize for the first three days. Paced myself, then let loose and I couldn't have asked for a better show. Saw everything I wanted to and more. I did a lot of research and planned pretty well for a Roo virgin. BB King had to be sacrificed, but I can see him in NYC at some point. Made it to all late nights and just had a blast! Wish I could have gotten a little more sleep, I think I got 14 hours total, but relaxed at some shows instead.
I regret not seeing the Felice Brothers but something told me to check out The Sword. I am glad I did because The Sword totally rocked! I left that show feeling like I had been trampled by elephants. Best Thursday night band by far.

losing my shit during Pearl Jam's set when they started playing Black and having to leave my killer spot near the front to go relax off to the side and more or less missing the end of their set... ... although everything leading up to that was so incredible and intense that it still ended up one of my favorite shows I've ever been to.
Not seeing Metallica and all of MMJ due to the rain/tiredness. Also, not being 21 again so that the rain and weather doesn't affect me.
Biggest non-regret: getting an RV! The RV allowed the wife and I to recharge the "batteries" and get some rest so that we were relatively energetic throughout the event. I learned my lesson from 2007 (sun in my tent/face at 8am + walking all day + 100 degree weather + alcohol = heat exhaustion). Might be a good idea as some of you get older.
