Last year was my first year. When coming on the farm the volunteers just asked if we had glass or any other forbidden things with us. We said no and they just sent us through without even looking through anything. Our campsite was awesome. Only a 5-10 minute walk to centeroo. Being so close made the people watching very cool. My neighbors were awesome. One guy next to us came alone so we adopted him into our group.
I really believe if you want to be left alone you just have to show respect to everyone and be friendly. Send out positive energy and you will receive positive energy. If you see someone that is overwhelmed do what you can to help that person out. What would you want to happen if you were that person?
A good vibe depends on each individual person. Karma is in full effect on the farm.
Karma doesn't mean anything when they randomly search your car. I have had it done in 08, and my friend in 09. It sucks, and has nothing to do with being polite. The only way to get in to centeroo is to start chanting "let us in" and if everybody starts chanting it they will usually let a bunch just walk in. To many doulble standards at roo now. It's greed at it's worst. They are searching for food and beer more than they are contraband. Sucks that we pay this much to be treated like criminals.

we got pulled over right before the gate by tullahoma pd and they flagged us to get searched after giving us enough time to give all our bottles of liquor to strangers at walmart (minus one we forgot that got in with us). needless to say getting into roo was easy and everyone was totally reasonable.
when we got into roo the security/staff was only helpful, gave us free bottles of water a few times and never questioned or searched us. it wasnt the same for everyone, i hear they even check inside cigarette packs but it wasnt a problem for any of our ventures. i didn't have any problem getting into centeroo in a timely manner or anything like that.
as far as the vibe goes its totally unique to anything ive ever seen. the camping atmosphere is generally really chill, lots of good times had with all of our neighbors on all sides. lots of sharing and helping eachother out. we were foolish enough to not test the tent out and had difficulty setting it up in the dark but our neighbors to the left told us to sit down and relax with some corn while our neighbors to the right helped plan out how to put it up and we all did it together. generally there are some obnoxious people, and lots of mooches but that happens at every big party and roo might be one of the biggest. also just like a party make sure to watch your back. stuff we left out got taken but that was our only problem. maybe we lucked out, or maybe our good karma was paying off like mcpacker said, but the atmosphere at roo was definitely one of the high points. i mean just look at inforoo - everyone here is helpful and kind - it reflects the type of people at roo.
Also, one of the VIP security guys at the entrance near the arches was patting people down until he got to me and heard "don't you dare think about quacking touching me. I didn't pay 625 dollars to be treated like I paid 200". He opened his mouth to reply and wound up talking to the back of my head while I went through.
