Because if we post the agent that spilled the beans, it could cause problems for that person. And that person has a life, maybe kids and a spouse etc. wouldn't want anyone getting in hot water or fired because of us

I contacted Gogol Bordello
You're kidding right? That's exactly my point. If you don't post the agents name, it will take AC maybe 30 seconds to figure it out if they feel like busting some balls.
Got a no from Goat's people, but they will be going on an April tour (said it will be announced next week) and be in the "B-roo vague region". Turtleman sad now

I doubt AC cares much less than we think about what we find out or know on little ol' inforoo.

Boo for not being at Roo but yay for them touring in the area at least.

If you meant to say "I doubt AC cares about leaks" I think you're right. But let's not delude ourselves into thinking not listing the agents name is protecting anyone.

I hope they come near Knoxville, I doubt I could convince any of my friends to travel to see a band they've never heard of
Edit: looks like Nashville and Newport, KY will be the closest. Time to start turning friends into Goat fans

Alas, I too have been unable to get into Alt-J. I'm working my way into it, but I don't see myself getting to the level of infatuation everyone else jumped to immediately.
I think the Radiohead comparison is pretty apt, as far as it's possible to compare any newer band to a well established act. In addition to the minor cords, they've also got the sort of high pitched vocals going on, but what really sells it I think is the percussion throughout the album. I can't find a suitable adjective for it, but it apparently reminds a lot of people of Radiohead's.

I think you're missing something. Lets assume that Roo doesn't mind, but what if the agency does? If we don't post where we got the information publicly, there will be some mystery there, and said agent won't get in trouble. But if we post the agent's name, and the agency gets pissed, it COULD cause that agent problems. Discretion is a good idea, not just for today but for the ability to get info in the future as well.
If there is a 1% chance that this could cause someone a problem, its worth protecting them as much as possible by not revealing the name. yeah?
Im guessing you haven't seen them or been close for one of their shows. They are far from "eh". Absolutely AMAZING live band. Almost have to say they were my favorite show from Hangout this year - but I can't. Wilco was.

You can't really listen to Gogol through their records, you need to experience them.

You know you really can't say you like Gogol Bordello unless you've had personal, non-musical interactions with gypsies. They are far from like-able. They would be my least favorite group of people, but Mennonites take the cake on that front.

From my experience contacting people for Moog interviews, agencies are either small or they assign artists to an individual agent. It wouldn't be difficult for an agency to find out who leaked it. Second, they are probably going to contact you using their work email which is probably logged on a server somewhere. Third, if you were that worried about it, you wouldn't give information that could cost you your job to some rando on the internet.
I reached out to Windish to ask if about the possibility of an El-P appearance. Got a response within about 5 minutes. Looks like we've made an impression
Ps. Let me know where we stand on posting agent info and I'll edit the picture.
I hope it's something along the lines of MC Ride standing on that balcony giving the world the finger, only this time he's holding a sign that says, "Death Grips at Bonnaroo."
