Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think you're missing something. Lets assume that Roo doesn't mind, but what if the agency does? If we don't post where we got the information publicly, there will be some mystery there, and said agent won't get in trouble. But if we post the agent's name, and the agency gets pissed, it COULD cause that agent problems. Discretion is a good idea, not just for today but for the ability to get info in the future as well.
If there is a 1% chance that this could cause someone a problem, its worth protecting them as much as possible by not revealing the name. yeah?
From my experience contacting people for Moog interviews, agencies are either small or they assign artists to an individual agent. It wouldn't be difficult for an agency to find out who leaked it. Second, they are probably going to contact you using their work email which is probably logged on a server somewhere. Third, if you were that worried about it, you wouldn't give information that could cost you your job to some rando on the internet.
I'm not sure why some people are so hell-bent on outing sources. If holding off on printing a contact's name and/or email address leaves enough of a grey area to protect someone's job, why not err on the side of caution?

My post was about how greying out the name isn't the end all be all of protecting them. I'm not hell bent on it. I just don't think it will make that big of a difference if the agency was going to be pissed about it.

It wasn't really directed at you specifically, you just happened to be the last to post on the topic. Sorry if I offended there.
And you're right that it's not an ideal solution. It's really just the basic minimum of courtesy when it comes to protecting a source. In the end, though, if someone is determined enough to find out they probably will.

Ok, I just thought you were since you quoted me. I agree though. When it comes down to it, it takes three more seconds to paint over the agent's name. I just don't think it'll make a difference if AC, Superfly, the artist or the agency decide to get pissed about it.
Man, that undercard is already shaping up to be beautiful. If they can add Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, and The National to the upper undercard and keep this up with the smaller act, I'll be able to overlook the likely poor headliners (although I'm still hopeful about Sir Paul).
I reached out to Windish to ask if about the possibility of an El-P appearance. Got a response within about 5 minutes. Looks like we've made an impression
Ps. Let me know where we stand on posting agent info and I'll edit the picture.
Well that pretty much confirms him? I asked him via twitter twice but got nothing in return. This makes me so fucking pumped!
My wording on the El-P email was basically, "I'm trying to plan out my what music festivals I go to this summer. I missed El-P and Mike when they were in Atlanta and I want to make sure I don't miss them this summer. Any chance he is playing Bonnaroo?"
Sooooo Sam didn't rule it out but it's definitely not a confirm either. I get the feeling he will be there but that's just me being hopeful.

Nice work you guys! It seems to me that you all are getting more responses and quicker replies than we did last year. Maybe people are on to our tactics but most of them are enjoying it? Except for maybe Windish.
I wrote Black Joe Lewis&the Honeybears but haven't heard back.
I will buy her an arepa if she appears! Black Keys Flamming Lips announced for Bridgestone the month before Bonnaroo perhaps we can find out some nuances of their non-competition clause I just do not see them being ruled out two big previous acts that can satisfy the crowds.

I just got reply about Lee "Scratch" Perry: "LSP will be touring the USA in Spring '13. Please keep an eye on festival lineup announcements." to me that sounds like he will be there but im pretty optimistic.
