So when I heard the hangout rumors I discounted this idea. However other rumblings are starting to say yes. It really would not surprise me with the new album coming out and all. I would love to see The Boys tear Bonnaroo up again.
In fact regardless of the amount of moaning it would cause I would like to see them get a LN and a Headliner again. I loved both shows in 09 and they are much better now that they have been practicing for a couple of years.

I decided to skip Phish on Friday in '09 for whatever reason, because I thought I would catch them on Sunday. Turns out everyone partied too hard on Saturday night and we left mid day Sunday. My biggest regret from my first 'roo. I need redemption.
Are there serious rumors about them headlining, or are you just wishing?

Semi serious just chatter though, I would love it.
I would definitely be fine with Phish closing Sunday Night. Would be able to continue my 4 year streak of never stickign around for a Sunday closer and getting an early headstart back!
Yes, please. A bigger, livelier closer than Further.
I saw Furthur earlier this month. Although it was a good overall experience, they really did lack enthusiasm. When they went into a 35 minute jam session, it was a little bit over the top.

I assume you haven't seen them or other incarnations of the dead before. A half hour jam isn't that unusual. They have studio albums with jams nearing that length.

^ It was my first time seeing any incarnation of them, but even the people sitting around me who had seen them 30+ times said it was a bit much. Maybe the reason why it seemed too much was because it wasn't an interesting 35 minute jam.

Likely, when they're on they're on, 35 minutes seems like 10. When they aren't 35 minutes seems like a dentist appointment. I've seen plenty of shows in lots of forms and a jam that people don't know or isn't on time can send a lot of people to the bathrooms and beer gardens.

Okay, I've never really gotten into Phish besides the occasional 20 minute jam video on youtube. I like what I've heard, I just don't know much. What's a good album to get an idea of what they're all about, like a Phish Okonokos? Should I cop a bootleg of a certain show?

Rift is by far my favorite studio album, anything from a NYE run will be good, as well as the stuff from Dicks Arena recently. They actually did an entire show that was nothing but the songs that begin with the letter S there and it was a lot of fun. They had to dig deep in the catalog.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Phish 09 sunday was the 2nd best show I've ever experienced at Bonnaroo, and opened my mind so much wider to a whole genre of music. It was also definitely one of the 10 best shows I've ever seen. I have the recording and still listen to it pretty regularly.
Phish on sunday would be pretty damn convincing to get me back on the farm this year. Fingers crossed.
