They should just do 2 sets on the same day like at OSL. Unopposed headliner spot, break when the late nights start, then late night set.
i could see this as well. set 1: 11pm -12:30. latenights start. then a 2am - whenever set. it would be amazing to see Phish bring up the sun at bonnaroo.
I am great with the idea of Phish playing 2 sets. It would be optimal if they were the LN on Friday and the closer on Sunday.
I mean, people don't have to like Phish (though why wouldn't they?), but it's not a ridiculous notion for them to play two sets. Jam bands are a big part of what sets Bonnaroo apart from Lolla and Coachella. And with Jerry dead, there isn't really a bigger jam band on the planet. Er, well, I guess DMB is bigger, but they aren't publicly attached to the title "jam band."

Really annoying Phan attitude right here.
It's ridiculous for them to play two nights at this festival, again. No other band has done it since on that scale (two What sets) two different nights. Why should Phish?

i agree they don't need to take up two nights again. but two sets, as in one latenight and one afternoon acoustic, or an unopposed headlining and late late-night sunrise slot in the SAME night IMO is perfectly reasonable.

Yeah, I'm such a Phan. All zero times I saw them in concert I skipped the first set to sell grilled cheese and drugs in the parking lot.

There was precedent when WSP played 2 nights in 05. It won't happen again I don't think but ask yourself if Radiohead was rumored 2 nights of headlining would that suddenly make it ok?
It's gonna be an OSL type situation where it's 2 sets in one night, me thinks.

Bonnaroo was created because Phish was going on hiatus.

What does that have anything to do with the festival 10 years later?

I would have no problems with two sets in the same night. Pearl Jam practically did it, Bruce practically did it, others have pretty much had two in the tents.
They played 3 sets in 09, including the monster 3 hour "Bruce" type LN Friday set, then two on Sunday. I don't think it is unreasonable to see them headline for 3 hours one night unopposed then to play another opposed show. The average Bonnaroo attendant will be all about some Phish.

Never seen Phish and I can't think of a better place to see them for the first time than Bonnaroo. I think the STI slot from '11 would be a good fit.
Yeah, Phish just sold out MSG for 4 nights in a row in less than an hour. They are not going to be playing on The Which, and there is no way they are not a top 3 on the lineup.
My bad. If they played in Calgary (which they never have to my knowledge) they'd be lucky to sell out a theater let alone our 20000 seat hockey arena.
I think you would be surprised, they have a pretty loyal fan base that is willing to travel. They do not usually play outside the US though, other than a Europe tour a decade ago.
I have not seen Phish since seeing 3 shows at Deer Creek just north of Indy in like 2003 I think? Maybe 2004? I was blown away, but just cant seem to listen to them on CD. I would love to see them again, and if I got to see 2 sets I would def go to both of them.
Listening to At the Roxy, and driving by the Roxy weekly, makes me sad I missed it. But considering I was the ripe age of 11 months when it was recorded, I doubt I wouldve enjoyed it.
