The whole thing about Fat Mike pissing into a liquor bottle backstage at SXSW last year and then pouring shots for fans.. it kind of put a bad taste in my mouth... no pun intended.
I'll check these guys out though. might be a fun show

I would take Gwar over NoFX any day of the week, fat mike is such a piece of s hit of a person. Bonnaroo just lost tons of respect from me for booking them. No other act has really ever made me mad that they booked. Does bonnaroo have any integrity left?

They played all of Punk In Drublic at Mess With Texas Festival at sxsw in 2008. That will go down in my top 10 shows ever. Also, me and my friends snuck onstage and watched it from their perspective which is the only time I have gotten to watch a big show from onstage.
Question: Is Bonnaroo a Hippie Fest of a Music Fest? I thought it was a music fest and I will much welcome all types of music and people but that is just me.
I am fucking there. I missed them years ago when part of the warped tour got rained out. I thought a reasonable chance to see em was gone. FUCK YEAH!!!!!!

A couple videos from NOFX at sxsw in 2008.
I am sure there is more recent stuff around, but this show was awesome.
And regarding throwing stuff at him, I just saw someone do that to Ben Weasel at sxsw this year and he ended up hitting two women (totally uncalled for and he should have ended the show there and then instead of going aggro). Now the band is broken up.
GREAT ADD! Saw them in Tokyo, Japan on their Mons-tour in '95. Was hoping to catch them in Knoxville when they came through recently, but things didn't pan out. I, for one, am very happy they're coming out to the farm.

I hadn't though about the meaning behind August 8th... well, Fat Mike had the date wrong anyway, the jerk. He's a punk for life, far as I can tell. Like many, I assume he doesn't "get" what musical avenues The Dead are exploring in their tunes. I mean, you'll never see NOFX break into some free form (do your own thing for 24+ bars [unless it's to make noise]) experiment and you never will. Sometimes people make fun of what they don't understand to help make themselves feel better; I'm going to chalk his unfortunate subject choice to this.

Wait, he PISSED in that bottle?? I had like 6 shots!

I dont really understand how them booking NOFX shows a "lack of integrity?" It's not like they're a huge band outside of the punk rock circles. They're an extremely DIY band who has actually kept those ethics throughout their entire career. Fat Mike isn't as big of an asshole as he makes himself out to be, that persona is no more serious than Odd Future's.

Yeah, I don't like NOFX but I at least respect the DIY and their never signing to a major label when all the rest of those Cali punk bands were getting snatched up.
