There’s a rumor going around that Voodoo will be cancelled due to a “lack of available talent”. Kind of a bummer that all these fests happening at the same time might push them out

Whatever issues Voodoo is having are likely the same ones preventing Jazz fest from announcing a line up. Seems like NOLA is still in a phased reopening.
Buku is announcing their "reimagined" Buku Project Planet B tomorrow. They are Goldenvoice/AEG (AEG Worldwide promotes/books for Jazz Fest). I don't know if the smaller footprint for this fall's Buku got them the pass or if it's unrelated to the difficulties the other festivals are having with the city.
Jazz Fest is the biggest fest in town and with 2 weekends and 12 stages, probably books the most bands per day of any event. So unlike Buku (light), Or any one weekend fest they have more to tighten up. Probably takes some pressure off of them to let Buku & Voodoo announce to give them all some space. I would expect a talent announcement soon.
I hear it’s a mix of 2020 bands & some swap outs.

The weekend after ACL weekend 2 would be perfect. They’d probably get many of the same acts, and the weather could be very agreeable-can any southerners confirm?
That's weekend 2 of the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Might not make for a good overlap.
For the love of all that's holy, I wish this festival could move on from The Strokes. I feel like everyone's right, but...blah. I've tried so hard. I even went to the NYE show this past December. I just can't make that band work for me.
Anyway. My biggest question is whether this will be 18-and-over, still. Please, festival gods, make that happen.
I find it odd there's been no announcement or hints of an announcement which leads me to believe that they are still iffy on this actually being able to go down. I know DeBlasio has said the city will be fully open as of 7/1 but news of all these variants and the depressing article about us likely not reaching herd immunity from this morning is casting doubts on large NYC events. Again, hope I'm wrong.
I am a noted Lolla optimist but I don't read too much into the NFT thing. Could just as easily be a perk that transfers to 2022 if 2021 isn't possible.

No, its just a newspaper trying to get some hype. Maybe they were just browsing forums and saw the chatter. Although theres some promise with San Mateo county moving to the orange tier next week and SF will follow soon after that. Thats really fast since they just went into Red. So best case scenario everyones in yellow within a few months cause theres no such thing as green yet. Although Newsom might just create it and then certain counties being declared covid free will be interesting.
And Mr Maga only made the statement cause he cant get stand Fauci calling his ass out and him back down from trying to do the right thing.

Bonnaroo moves from it's normal June 2021 slot to September. So, I'd say Jazz Fest 21 is officially on the clock for will they/won't they try to go in April/May. Same thing for Coachella and Hangout and all the other early/spring shows in '21. Let the dominoes begin to fall....
I bet Hangout had a plan before that Hurricane. Have any spring fest announced Sept. Oct moves yet? Buku or okachobee?

Would sell insanely well for this fest
Yea this would do really well, but probably has one or three too many names that would actually show up on the Firefly lineup. This has a combo different enough from other East Coast festivals to get significant ticket sales., and that's with the black eye of Maroon 5 (but some will get excited about I guess?).
