After this I'm done with this thread...I'll agree that tone is more easily misunderstood electronically, but to say that tone cannot be conveyed electronically is a falsehood.
And, if people are so fragile minded that they miss out on everything that Bonnaroo has to offer b/c they're busy being disappointed that something they speculated about or read on a message board doesn't pan out, then they deserve what they get. You can't protect people from themselves, and to try is folly.

Yeah, I'm not really on either side of it, I'm just trying to play the devil's advocate. I also think the lineup rocks (though I'll probably skip Metallica and JJ). It's funny how much people argue on here (people communicate very differently on the internet), when we all get along once we actually get to Bonnaroo.
I tend to agree with this thread being absolutely unnecessary and unhelpful. It's existence is extraneous. There are already threads where Roo vets have talked about the misconception of a Thursday headliner. A thread telling people they are stupid for literally believing posted dates on resources like pollstar (which is fairly scattershot in accuracy anyway) is kind of pointless.
There ARE ways you can tell people they're wrong without making them feel stupid too. Allowing people to save face is highly underrated.
The responses in this thread are exactly why I rarely post on message boards anymore. I tried to educate people in a non-confrontational, yet authoritative way. I never insulted anyone yet I was called lots of names and my character was attacked.

Way to interact y'all.
probably because you have no actual authority. you have the same knowledge that all of us have.
"probably because you have no actual authority. you have the same knowledge that all of us have."
You're right. I have no actual authority. That is obvious. However, it is clear I have more knowledge than many, which is the reason I started this thread in the first place.

Again, I would say the reason why you've had such negative feedback to starting this thread is the same reason people who start "I'm not going to Bonnaroo" threads get negative feedback. There are threads that exist that cover the subject already. When you start a conversation or a debate by telling people you're right and they're wrong, what exactly do you expect in terms of response?
It's actually a fairly useful thread in you're interested in having an accurate picture of the structure of Bonnaroo and it's schedule.
yes - I agree it is and I do not dispute anything that you or a few others have written - but I did checkle my way through all the pages at one sitting and it was fairly amusing to see the posters that have never been there or have been last year think they can tell what AC/Superfly is gonna do.
I mean come on - it's Bonnaroo - just go - chill on the farm and enjoy 4 days on break from the reality of the real world - no matter what bands play - it is still the farm and it will always have supurb music in one form or another

And what the heck are we supposed to do while we're at work for the next 4 months!?!

have respectful debates - LOL btw - I don't believe that LZ will be there and I think there are only 3 headliners - the first three listed and there will be no headliner Thursday night - and I could care less if Kanye West plays or not - I will find another show to go to. Oh - one final thing - Jack Johnson is a headliner and is closing Bonnaroo on Sunday night.
I know all this because the veterans of Bonnaroo have hashed it all out in this thread already ;D
