Alright, didn't see that it would be on the What Stage... but that's REALLY cool... I (as many others) have thought it'd be great to have a comedian on the What Stage.

I walk away for five minutes and this page grows two pages....
I think it's gonna be neat watching him on What Stage, It's not very often you are surrounded by tens of thousands of people laughing at the same thing
Neato, Mr. Rock has always been amusing to me and I look forward to not having to stand in that damned line forever and then decide to get out of it when my journey necessitated I go elsewhere.
the really funny thing is he's listed as playing on Friday...on the What Stage...he's the second biggest headliner of the day...which can mean only one thing...he's opening for Metallica!

I'm surprised how many people seemed to be disappointed at first, but became excited when it became known that this was a special performance on the main stage. I like Chris Rock ok, but that makes me more disappointed. I don't like the idea of any time that could be given to music on the main stages and tent are instead given to comedians. Rock is good, and of course he's too big for the comedy tent, but that doesn't make this ok. That's my take-- don't diminish our opportunity to see what we are really coming for: the MUSIC!

haha yeah cause if a comedian sees you leaving the tent they usually get called out,Idon't remember who it was I saw but they laid into someone for walking out during the middle ofthe set....and who would want to get called out by chris rock...ouch!
Bonnaroo should throw out the comedy tent and use the comedians on stage between sets, that would be awesome.
That is an absolutely genius idea. Oh, and Chris Rock is hilarious.
“You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon.' Need I say more?”

valid point. But i'm more than willing to sacrifice one main stage act to see Chris Rock. I mean he's a legend, and his tickets alone probably cost in the 70 buck range. Well worth the cost of an hour on the What Stage to me

i don't think you have to sacrifice anything to put chris rock on the what stage all he needs is a mic. he can do his set in between the last to bands on the what stage

this is very true, didnt think of that. Although you never know with soundchecks and all.

Can't wait!
Ha.. All you non-Metallica fans are screwed! You're gonna be exposed to the mania of Metallica one way or another! LOL
I didn't read the whole thread....or really any of it (12th beer leave me alone)....HE CAN'T BE IN THE COMEDY TENT....the line would reach Kentucky...the line for Lewis Black was huge and he plays 500 person comedy clubs....Chris Rock sells out the Garden....
I'm there regardless...and I promised myself no waiting in line for anything this year.
Edit: Sorry....AWESOME he's not in the tent!
