hey, look at there. my karma came back up. awesome.
BonnarooDetective...i think you're just a f&ckin assh0le. i don't think i've heard one positive comment from you since ive been on inforoo. you should probably find another festival to attend this year.
just my opinion, though.
Well, I point out the reasons behind my argument, and you call me names . . . cool.
I love Bonnaroo and I've said a number of good things about it this year. While its true I have my complaints, I've also been raving about my excitement over artists like Robert Randolph, Pearl Jam, and The Raconteurs. I'm just defending my point of view, and just because it conflicts with yours, doesn't make me an a$$hole.

Woah... this is Bonnaroo, sir... we don't need any of that mess here. Name calling and such.
I just think that Chris Rock performing before Metallica at Bonnaroo is really strange. I like Rock though, he is hilarious. If there isn't a conflict I'll happily enjoy his set.
wow - now I see what Becs meant - The Other Tent is a safe haven compared to this.
I gotta agree with BonnarooDetective (and we don't always see eye to eye) the past few years we have had additions prior to ticket sales - I would like to see some additional music additions.
I mean - thanks to the wishes and generosity of Inforoo - we are going to Bonnaroo whether they add anyone else at all - but I know alot of people are on the fence and an announcment about Chris Rock is not gonna sway these people - they want to hear about band additions.

Sure there are plenty of bands I don't want to see at Bonnaroo. I don't openly complain about it, however, because it's completely futile. I just accept what we're given knowing that someone else is going to enjoy it. That's the spirit of the festival and has been since it's inception.
Besides, if you can't find a way to be supremely entertained at all hours of the day while you're there, well, then there may be no hope for you.
In any event, this is Chris Rock we're talking about. He's one of the most influential and groundbreaking comedians of this generation. Get excited.

So here's my theory....If you look at the VERY easy to update list at the website, Chris Rock is on there right after Kanye....BUT if you open up the poster...no dice....I think they have another addition or so that they are waiting to announce before they update the poster...

Hope I get a chance to see him tell jokes about the differences between white people and black people.
That was funny
Alright this has been killing me ever since I found out chris rock was added...I don't mind chris rock telling jokes about the differences between white people and black people. Making light of stereotypes allows everyone to laugh at each other and possibly relieves tension that could otherwise lead to racism and prejudice. It's an essential function of comedy in society...
HOWEVER...I find it a lot harder to swallow when he makes jokes about the difference between black people and "niggas"...perhaps he wasn't the first to present this theory to the world, but I heard it from him first and, since then, have heard it time and time again from white people justifying their own racism...the behaviors he attributes to "niggas" can easily be applied to any person of and race, but because of the historical context of the term, it's usually used to refer to a black person. Based on my personal experiences, his "black people vs. niggas" joke does more to fuel racism than help everyone understand one and other better.
With that said, he's a funny guy and I'm sure he'll have us all laughing our asses off...just had to get that off my chest.
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."
I'm actually really excited for this and I'll be going to see Chris as long as it's not at the same time as a band I want to see. You Americans are a little spoiled (and lucky) I think. We in Canada would never get to see a lot of these bands and guys like Chris if it weren't for Bonnaroo.

He's quit doing that routine. He said he hated it when white people would quote it.
"God? Lonely. But funny. He's got a great sense of humor. Take sex for example. There's nothing funnier than the ridiculous faces you people make mid-coitus."
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
this is like krazy komedy roo, im psyched to see chris rock and brian poshen, for him i will wait in a line as long as it doesnt conflict with anything. who are they booking next? krusty the klown?
