Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The two I'm hoping for the most are Cobra and The Bear. I have yet to see MMJ live but have friends who saw them 6 times last year alone. They got Cobra when they saw them in Athens for the MMJ Prom and said it was ridiculous live. The Bear is just one of my favorites and would love to hear it. The usual run through of songs...Magneeta, Gideon, One Big Holiday, Wonderful Man, etc...will probably be in the set, but the new album drops June 10 so I'm sure we'll be seeing most of Evil Urges' track list live at Bonnaroo.
i saw MMJ 9 times in 06 and at lollapalooza. they are amazing and I can't wait to see them again. Since we are on the topic of MMJ my wife can't go with me to their Radio City Music Hall show on 6/20. I have an extra orchestra seat if anyone needs one PM me.
late night....which stage....drool anybody got any scoops/leaks on the new album? are they playing new stuff in concert already? if so, thoughts/reactions from anyone lucky enough to catch them recently?
mucho MMJ love here. golden & one big holiday seem to realign my cellular structure in the perfect way. 06 was monumental and i'm sure this will be too!!!!!!!!!
March 07, 2008, 1:40 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. My Morning Jacket throws fans another sonic curveball on its new studio album, "Evil Urges," due June 10 via ATO. The 14-track set sports the most adventurous music of the Kentucky-bred rock act's career, beginning with the title track, a falsetto-driven groove-fest that opens the disc.
MMJ is uncharted territory with songs like "Highly Suspicious," whose robotic funk beats and falsetto singing wouldn't sound out of place on a Rick James or Prince album.
Strident rockers like "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 1" boast unusual touches, from fluttering synth lines and multi-tracked vocal parts to chopped-up beats and electro effects on the bass and guitars. Appearing near the end of the disc, "Part 2" of the track is an eight-minute-plus mash-up of disco drumming and grandiose production unlike MMJ has ever attempted.
Elsewhere, "Thank You Too" conjures a lost soft rock classic from the '70s, as frontman Jim James tenderly croons, "You really saw my naked heart / you really brought out the naked part."
James and his acoustic guitar are also at the forefront of "Librarian," while "Remnants" and "Aluminum Park" will satisfy fans of MMJ's straight-ahead, double-guitar attack.
The group is expected to unveil new material during shows next week in Houston and Austin, Texas, the latter one of the most anticipated sets at the South by Southwest festival.
Here is the track list for "Evil Urges":
"Evil Urges "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 1" "Highly Suspicious" "I'm Amazed" "Thank You Too" "Sec Walkin'" "Two Halves" "Librarian" "Look At You" "Aluminum Park" "Remnants" "Smokin From Shootin" "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 2" "Good Intentions"

I went to the first night of the prom last year too. Cobra was quite the treat. They don't play it too much anymore, but I can definitely see them breaking it out for the ol Roo. This show is going to be massive!
I think the only song they didn't play in '06 that I really wanted to see them do was "O Is the One.." I'm really psyched that there will be an albums worth of brand new songs to see them perform for the first time. I can't wait for this!!

Wow. I just saw them for the first time on Tuesday night. IFC had a private party in Austin Tuesday night. Only about 500 people, I'd guess (anybody else see it). IFC filmed the whole thing, so I would expect to see something on IFC or ITC in Theatres in the relatively near future.
These guys are incredible. I can't believe that I blew them off at previous Bonnaroo's.

"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski
Thanks for the link! Just in time, they should be coming on right now...but nothing seems to be happening with the player, it's just Buffering forever. Is it working for others?

Freebird. Because they are one of the only bands I truly think could do this cover well.
