Can't believe there isn't more chatter on here about these guys! Such an amazing band! Figured there would be more since their 2006 performance was so memorable. I personally can't wait! I hope they get a midnight time slot.
I think it's just sort of a given around here......
ha yeah, its kinda like the Beatles, we take them for granted for a little bit, and as result even forget about them, but then bam when you listen to them (or in MMJ's case listen to them and/or see them live) you feel nothing but pure love. These guys are going to be an institution for years to come, future legends. Can't wait for the new album!
Yea I'd say not much talk about them because we all knew and expected them to be playing this year after having a year off. They have a proven track record at Bonnaroo, so we know they are going to bring the house. I think all of us are simply wondering what they are gonna do to top themselves from '06. What stage they are gonna be on.....what time slot they are going to have things of that nature.
Trailer for Okonokos, their live DVD they put out in '06. Gives you a small sample of them live. If you want to see them at their best, check out that DVD.

i wasn't there in 06 so i missed it, but the chatter about how awesome their show was caused me to find the entire show on video and audio, just for those wondering here was their setlist from that show: (it is awesome, and i wasn't even there)
-wordless chorus -it beats 4 u -what a wonderful man -one big holiday -older guys (flying burrito bros.) -head held high (Velvet underground) -lowdown -the way that he sings -masterplan -at dawn -golden -gideon -x-mas curtain -dondante -anytime -mahgeetah -a quick one (the who) -loving cup (rolling stones) -Attitude (misfits) -off the record -lay low -the dark -the bear -i will sing you songs -heartbreakin' man -evelyn is not real -its about twilight now -it makes no difference - phone went west -run thru
All the MMJ love is in my pants and if Eddie Vedder comes out and does "A Quick One While He's Away" with the boys, the love will be all over the place.

i'm going to be all over My Morning Jacket, stocked up on corn and whiskey so i can dance all night!
hahaha that reminds me of one time me and my friends had a bunch of leftover corn and decided it might taste good to pour whiskey all over it. I got that very strange taste in my mouth when I read your post.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it, MMJ is the greatest band of this era..... people will be talking about these guys for CENTURIES to come. The 2006 show still stands as the greatest concert I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. I can't wait for them this year and to once again take over Bonnaroo!!!!!
