Over the last two years, Battles has sort of become my religion. I'm going to cry like a baby when they walk onto stage. I don't tend to shove music down peoples' throats, but if you have room in your throat, please shove some Battles in there yourself. I think that they communicate with the aliens at least as much as Radiohead and DJ Q-Bert.
If you would stop and notice that we number every day But allow the many moments left uncounted slip away You don't have to count them, just enjoy them one by one Then things would take a different hue and sparkle in the sun - Phish
they played for free at south street seaport last summer so i checked it out and I was blown away and have become a avid/rabid fan. i def would reccomend no one sleeps on these guys

I've been trying. For months, at least once a week, I have been putting this album on and trying to get all the buzz, trying to get into the music and... it just isn't happening.

I don't get it. I'll keep trying.
I didn't get it the first time I listened to it.
Then I watched a clip of one of their shows, and though, that looks like a ton of fun.
Then I listened to it again and again and again and it grows more and more on me every time I do.
Edit: Now that I think about, that's about the same way I was with STS9.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things

ok I just listened to Battles for the first song... I listened to Atlas first...
At first I was like WTF is this... Then I found myself getting sucked into it... and then I couldnt stop listening... Now they have completely blown me away... I cannot wait for this show!
Then I listened to Tonto... That song ROCKS! The video is absolutely amazing to it!
Battles sounds similar to King Crimson sometimes, and that is tough to pull off. I will defidently be at this show if I go to Roo. That being said, they ain't STS9! We need STS9!!!
These guys at Pitchfork was the best show I saw in '07 and the best new live band I've seen in a long time. They strike me as really new and different. This is probably the band I want to see live most right now. I was lukewarm on the CD before seeing them.
