Click the NME link. When you are reading the page, the sub header of the page is "Led Zeppelin News." Why would Bonnaroo's "surprise" headliner be listed under Led Zeppelin news?

Sorry for that outburst.
I'm just gonna say this now, but if you were right I was right there with you the whole time ;D I never lost hope that Zeppelin would be there. And why would they say "Special" headliner if it was not something out of the ordinary........ ;D

Considering that NME is a British publication, this surprise is not Metallica or Pearl Jam . . . and could very well be Led Zeppelin
They go out of their way in that link to point out the involvement of their Los Angeles office. I don't think the fact that they are British has anything to do with it...if it was Rolling Stone that had the bulletin up, nobody would be saying "oh, it must be Metallica or Pearl Jam, since RS is an American publication".
I'm inclined to disagree. The use of the word "surprise" is key here. People in the UK could care less and would probably not be surprised by Metallica and Pearl Jam headlining an American music festival. A surprise is something special, like a band who is not currently on tour.

Oasis is not a surprise, they've toured on and off for a while now, and really haven't been relevent for a long time. Nor could they headline Bonnaroo.

I know Bonnaroo is big, but why would a British publication be so on top of this announcement if it wasn't someone really really noteworthy to the British press. They have their own festivals that are much bigger than Bonnaroo. I am pretty sure it is going to Led Zeppelin ;D
