I personally hope not. I love a handful of jambands, don't get me wrong, but I feel Bonnaroo could do so much better without having a jamband as one of the three headliners.
Also, the only ones left touring that are "big" enough to headline would be:
WSP Phil and Friends DMB (don't really consider them a jamband, but they are in most people's eyes)
At best that's a three year repeating rotation of headliners. I think that Superfly will head more toward this format:
60/70's band 80's band 90's-Current band
The jamband fans could still get a heavy dose of jamming late night and elsewhere. A WSP latenight would kill I'm sure. Also, the 60's/70's rock act would please that crowd I'm sure, and pretty much every band from that time jams a ton during their songs anyway.
Lastly, Hello everyone, I was in hibernation from Inforoo for the fall-->winter months (lurked a little, that's it), but am awake and hungry now. How's everyone?

I was thinking about making a similar poll asking whether people would be upset if there wasn't a jam band headliner this year. After all there would be plenty of other jam oriented bands to appease most appetites. I have never really got into the whole jam scene myself. Although I do like DMB and The Dead. I could do without the jam band headliner.
There will likely be a jam band headlining Sunday night as there has been every year of the festival...until there isn't. So until the exception occurs, I'm going to have to go with yes.
It's really a problem of not having any younger jambands step up to headliner level. When you have limited choices it gets repetitive. I'd happily take the Allman Brothers as Sunday headliner. Other than that and the already mentioned Phil, Dave, and Widespread triumverate, who do you have that could headline Bonnaroo?
I also believe that Neil Young & Crazy Horse or Levon Helm & Friends could qualify for the Sunday night headlining slot while keeping in tradition with the jam tradition.

I think we'll see a jam oriented band at least one of the nights and I'd love to see Young play as well. Maybe Superfly should think about moving the Superjam from late night to prime time. Mix a bunch of top rate players together and turn them loose for three or four hours. Let Warren Haynes host, he's played with everyone. Just a thought...

as stated, a lot of the new age jam bands havent stepped up to headline material quite yet.
The greatest jam band of my generation was Phish/SCI, and i missed the best years (being only 21 and kind of missed the bus a few years)...
A late night Phil/bobby set, Allman Brothers, or WSP would do me right this year.(w/ moe, umph, and bisco, of course!)
P.s...what if derek trucks plays with Santana? does that count
Or..Derek and Susan Tedeschi. They put on a hell of a 2+ hr show to close Wanee last April, and they have a lot of talented friends who might join them. Of couse if was Derek and Carlos, I'm sure they'd be there anyway.

Gov't Mule!! Yes. The word is Langerado will be one of the few shows that Mule does this summer. But then again, it is only just on the message boards....

I would love to see Superjam headline, I just don't think it will ever happen. It would eliminate what tends to be a big conflict for me every year. And the Superjam is usually better than any of the aforementioned possible jamband headliners. I just think there would be a little more wow to the lineup every year, if they weren't tied to having a jamband headliner each year.

Seriously wouldn't that be better than any possible combo with a jam headliner? And Zeppelin should jam enough to please the jam crowd.

I rather have Phil and Friends than The Cure. I'd personally be fine with them closing the festival every year. I'd also love to see a huge Gov't Mule show. I feel that their show last year was pretty much headliner worthy with all those guests.

I really don't care if any jam bands headline as long as they are there, but I do think that we'll get one, it's tradition after all. I would gladly take Neil Young or the Allman Bros for that spot. A big name w/ his/her friends would be awesome as well. I loved the Dave and Friends show especially when they did Bathtub Gin and thousands upon thousands of people were singing along!
i would love to see gov't mule headline friday or sunday night and have everyone sit in. it can be like the deepest end with a million guests and rock out for four hours
The "jam band" headliner I would want more than others would be Allman Brothers. Neil Young would be awesome, but he's barely in the "jam band" genre.
Other jam bands I'd not mind seeing headline would be; Gov't Mule, Dave Mathews (never seen him live, but I'm up for giving his legendary live show a shot), Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, The Dead.
I think Dave Matthews Band is a jamband of sorts, and I think they will headline, so yes.
Oh I hope so i really really hope so! kind of had a hard time remembering last time dmb was there so i would love to see them again (cause of course they are so damn expensive!)..but i did get to hang out with some fun-guys!!
