I am not one that fears having heavier stuff at 'roo... Just be nice in the pit!
saw rage at voodoofest (would have sounded much better at 'roo
but soulfly would be awesome at 'roo!
Man, I am jonesing for some RATM.... I haven't seen them in a while . Soulfly freaking RULES live... They could even team up with some reggae act and chill a little .... ummmm nevermind. BLEED!!!!!!!!!!

I definitely have to back up the fact that Against Me! would be a great fit for 'Roo. I thought their newest CD was a little lacking but they have so much energy. Just unbelievable live.
just to clear things up, i was being sarcastic about the korn comment. i guess i shouldve put a smiley face or something beside it to prove it, but oh well, im glad it roused some conversation. And chandler...whereabouts in wv are you? ..im in morgantown...
I could see QOTSA or Against Me! being a good fit with the lineup, but that would be about it. Black Sabbath too, but that's just too doubtful to happen.
Also FYI - Slayer's Reign In Blood is today's featured wiki entry. \m/
I don't know what in the hell happened with Mastadon at Vegoose. I was excited to see them, but they were almost painful to watch. It seemed like it was their first show. They spent a couple minutes tuning after every song!
Even their front man apologized and said that "hopefully next time, they'd have their sh!t together!"
Mastodon is kind of touchy like that. I'm from Atlanta and have seen them more times than I can count now. NYE 2005 they murdered it, they were great on the Unholy Alliance Tour 2006, sucked ass at the Atlantis Music Fest 2006, they played after Converge in Athens last year and played the worst set imaginable, but were great @ Corndog-o-rama last year. They're just like that...but I cant help but love them to death. I honestly think they'd be a great fit for Bonnaroo (as long as they show up to play). I wouldn't mind seeing Helmet @ Roo either!
What's up with this Dragonforce? Am I missing something? I've never heard of it...
Get your hands on Dragonforce's Inhuman Rampage, and check out their vids for "Through the Fire and Flames" and "Operation Ground and Pound" on YouTube. Pure awesomeness. Some of the best guitar playing that I've ever seen.
If Dragonforce plays Roo, there will be a beacon of light shooting down from the heavens into Herman Li's guitar.
I thought it was a joke at first, like Deathklok or someshit... shows how much I know. Last night, I went over to an old friend's house, his little brother, in 7th grade, was playing a song by them on Guitar Hero... My jaw hit the floor, most ridiculous sounding music I've ever heard.
I think NIN would be awesome at Roo. The first time I seen a NIN show I cried. The visuals where amazing!! I would love to see Rage for sure. I haven’t had the opportunity to see them yet I shall 1 day see them and no better place then Roo!! Deftones would be sweet too!! No Limp biscuit if I heard them I think I would hoark!!

I am a HUGE Deftones fan.... I sadly have to admit they sound like a woman giving birth to the spawn of satan live....
I gave them 3 chances,.... It's always a hype show, but sounds like sh*t...
Damn dude, the venues most have some craptastic sound or somethin, because the 12 or so times I've seen em, the sound is fantastic. Who knows? Anywho, I'd take some Team Sleep before the 'Tones at Bonnaroo. That would be a great tent show. How about some late nite action? Nice.
(Chino does sound exactly like that woman you speak of though. Thats why I love him so. )
Team Sleep would be amazing at Roo, but i don't think they're quite big enough to get the slot that they deserve. I love their CD. Wait til Roo 2010 when their new album comes out. I'm predicting that it will blow the first one out of the water and also I think they will big enough for late night slot after that.
PS. If that were to happen I hope that they would bring tool back that year so they could cover passenger.

^^ It honestly cracks me up when everyone gets all "this person could guest with this person" on Inforoo. I dont think we'd ever get to see that live, I believe its only happened once or twice anyways. And from what I have read in the past, i dont think he even recorded that in the studio with them, he sent the vocals. Regardless, it would be freaking mindblowing to see live.
I'd rather have Deftones... I would cry if Chino didn't belt something from Adrenaline! Guys, I would be front and center if they showed... Even Team Sleep for that matter... Hopefully, it would be a better experience.

Saw them @ The Norva in VA n they put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Aside from everyone else mentioned in this thread, Sparta would be cool to see @ Roo. Maybe at the same time as The Mars Volta n have a little At The Drive-In reunion.
hahaha...I know thats far fetched, that scenario just ran through my head as I thought about Sparta and The Mars Volta being in close proximity of one another.

rage, nin, moistboyz, melvins, buckethead and friends, mike patton, rob zombie, and gwar would all be good metal/heavier bands. a lot of you complain that these type of bands might ruin the vibe at roo but from what i saw at roo this year there were a bunch of frat guys that came to just party and then a bunch of dirty grimmy people just there to party with the metalheads atleast theyd be there for the music and anyways i'd like a fest that has all the music i could want in one place. sorry if you dont agree smite away if you feel the need just my opinion
meh...people just want something to complain about
all the sensitive types are still butthurt about maynard making fun of everyone.
i think tool was a great success last year and having a band or two like that every year wouldnt hurt. why not.
mastodon and helmet would fit right in with this crowd. people just need to open their ears a little bit and realize whats going on in front of them.
i used to hate jam rock but when i actually took a step back and realized what great musicians are in these bands, i came to respect and enjoy the music.

I consider Clutch to be a pretty hard band. They were at the Roo last year. It was the first show I saw and man did it surprise the hell out of me. I'd seen them before, but there I was in my Tie-dye making my way to the front of the crowd when some spikey hair guy starting beating the crap out of the person standing next to him. The music started and insta mosh-pit. I made my way to the side of the tent so I could still see and then watched the same guy crowd surf over the bar in front of the stage at least 3 times the last of which they took his wrist band.
I'm not sure why people have to beat each other up in a mosh-pitt in order to have a good time, but it's not for me. Next time I know to stand back a bit.
I 100% agree with chandler...Opeth and Between the Buried and Me would be IDEAL (especially if BTBAM played Colors all the way through...that would blow people away and earn them a whole lot of new fans). Other than that, I think the following "heavier" bands should play at Bonnaroo:
DOWN Mastodon Isis Pelican Neurosis Intronaut Jesu Melvins Queens of the Stone Age Baroness Coheed and Cambria Porcupine Tree Behold...the Arctopus
I'm glad someone started this post, and I totally agree that having such bands would contribute to the already wonderful diversity of the festival. There are definitely a good number of Bonnaroo attendees who appreciate heavy music and would definitely dig having a heavy band or three. And guess what! The people who don't want to see any heavy bands can go check something else out. That's one of the many wonderful things about Bonnaroo!
Anyways...if any of the aforementioned bands ever play at Bonnaroo, I will crap myself with happiness.
How about Dethklok themselves? I know they did a concert tour recently along with ...Trail of Dead. I unfortunately missed out because I mistakenly requested the night before it off of work.
