I have this terrible feeling that Paul Mccartney will headline. Its not a "should be" but he's almost done and his last two albums really were bith good and heavily pushed...persoanlly i think Ringo's All Star Band would be ten times better but i have a feeling that the time is ripe for Paul Mccartney.
"...well yeah the guitar is good accompaniment but you can't like compose with it; I mean you can't base a whole song around the guitar." -Bob Dylan 1965
As your attorney I advise you to drive at top speed and it'll be a Goddamn miracle if we get there before you turn into some kind of wild animal. Are you ready for that? Checking into a Las Vegas hotel under a phony name with the intent to commit capital fraud with a head full of acid? I certainly hope so...

Radiohead- they should have their new album released by the time of 'Roo next year (crosses fingers) The Allman Brothers Band - they haven't played since '05, and it's their due time Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young reunion - it's bound to happen sometime soon, and they may as well play 'Roo
Late Night Acts:
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - would be awesome to hear some of their stuff, possibly the night before CSNY moe. - I don't believe they've played in awhile The Disco Biscuits - I'm personally not a fan, but a lot of other people like them -> means I'll be at something else less crowded ;D The Mars Volta - you know that's where I'll be, these guys could play all night long. I'm really interested in hearing their new drummer, Tomas Prewitt I think is his name.
SuperJam:
Of course, the SuperJam would have to have some music legend. I'm personally rooting for Pete Townsend on guitar, and how about Stephen Stills on organ, Oteil Burbridge on bass, and bring in Jon Theodore on drums.
Smaller Acts (Tents, possibly side stage):
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - I really like this idea, Dave & Tim acoustic is just unparalleled. The Shins - it's about time Ray LaMontagne - just great for summer festivals Sufjan Stevens - who wouldn't like that? My Morning Jacket Robert Randolph & The Family Band Comets On Fire - great psychedelic freakout band Dweezil Zappa Les Claypool, of course Murder By Death - the perfect Wild West band! Gypsyfoot
And of course, being Bonnaroo, there will be PLENTY of surprises!

With the noticible amount of love that the Roo bands were giving Black Sabbath, I cant help but think that they would be great for next year. Theres really no way I'd miss that.
and of course, all the bands that I've been saying all along...
The Mars Volta, Explosions in the Sky, Pink Floyd reunion, etc.

I have this terrible feeling that Paul Mccartney will headline.
I've had that feeling too...
I was just thinking about what would be some good bands/artists that have yet to play roo - what do you all think about the Faint? They don't fit directly but I could see them having a badass night show in one of the tented stages, with lots of dancing!
Others - a lot already mentioned, then some other I don't think were: The Wailers (mentioned?) Tapes n' Tapes, Van-she, Sparklehorse, Black moth super-rainbow... Some i have to repeat: AIR, Radiohead, Apex Twin, Portishead, Willie, Hot chip (at night), FLips Non music - George Carlin for comedy, YDRS again!, maybe some sort of involvement from adult swim a sponsor tent or somethin
You know the more and more I think about this the more and more I would not want Pink Floyd there. If they reunited it would be way to big for just one night at the roo. I would be happier seeing them over a weekend stretch like the Phish shows used to be.
I would love to see the following:
Headliner: Friday: RHCP Saturday: The Flaming Lips Sunday: The Allman Brothers
Latenight: Friday: MOE, Particle and STS9 on separate stages of course Saturday: D.U.M.B (Disco Biscuits and Umphrey's), WSP and Ween
plus bring back Yonder Mtn String Band and throw in a legend from Pink Floyd like Gilmore or Waters.
For the superjam I would love to see Slash, Eric Clapton or Eddie Van Halen.

Anybody at Bonnaroo will put on an awesome show. As long as Red Hot Chili Peppers stay far, far away from the farm and I will happily thrown down another $200 bucks to party down in Tennessee again.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
I can't see McCartney headlining, or even playing at roo. Doesn't seem like a solid fit. As beloved as he is, I don't think roo is the right place for Macca. Merely my opinion, though!
I know that its unlikely but I would go absolutely crazy if The Smashing Pumpkins came to Bonnaroo, I think that would be amazing.
Also, Dave and Friends Pearl Jam Allman Brothers Paul Simon Eric Clapton Primus Fiona Apple Dispatch Cake Ray LaMontagne Modest Mouse Jamiroquai Micheal Franti O.A.R. moe. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Rusted Root John Butler Trio J5 Flaming Lips Bjork Gnarls Barkley (late night) Amos Lee

Radiohead, Floyd, PJ, MMJ, and Explosions in the Sky would be enough to make me rent an RV and make the trip again.
A few questions, though:
A. Is that Pink Floyd with Roger Waters or sans-Roger Waters? If it is WITH Roger Waters, I don't see anyway how they are not the Saturday headliner. That would be epic. I really don't think you could have PF, PJ, and Radiohead all at the same event, because they are all 'Saturday headliners'.
B. How could Alice In Chains possibly play again without Layne? I don't see that happening.

I like the way you think, though.
I just read an article from Roger Waters about possibly reuniting for the Live Earth events... the greedy side of me is happy he says it will never happen (since I was 3 rows back from the Live 8 reunion), but I would love to see a full on PF show. It's too bad those guys arent broke!

Headliners: Rage Against the Machine/ Smashing Pumpkins (I'll almost bet one or the other) The Dead (Gotta have one Jamband headliner, and these guys haven't since 2004) Pearl Jam/ David Gilmore
Late Night: Air Broken Social Scene (unlikely i know, but it'd be awesome) Explosions in the Sky/ Mogwai Queens of the Stone Age
Others: Arcade Fire Wolf Parade Tv on the Radio The Weepies The Shins The Music Tapes 'n Tapes Built to Spill !!! Band of Horses Belle & Sebastian The Rapture LCD Soundsystem Loose Fur Of Montreal Peter Bjorn and John Ryan Adams Thom Yorke (Solo) The Zutons B.R.M.C
I think the only reason Tool was there, was because of their unorthodox style of a metal band. You got to remember, they consider themselves a progressive rock band rather than a metal band.
That could be part of it, but I'm sure that Trey had something to do with it, too. In an interview that took place before the artist list was released, Trey was asked who he thought should play Bonnaroo, and his answer was Tool. He also said something to the extent of Tool being the most psychedelic band that is around today.

damn! any Iron & Wine love around? I'm down with this Prince idea, but he'd havta do some crazy covers for it to be a success. Has anyone mentioned that any form of George Clinton would just bring the house down at roo? oh and tom waits
