godd**n this set is going to be the climax of my life.
I trekked from Toronto to Chicago last summer to see them at Lollapalooza, and that was supposed to be my life's high point, but due to circumstances beyond my control (bitchy girlfriend) I only caught about ten minutes of the set.
Talk about blessing in disguise. Despite being within 100 feet of them TWICE, I have never seen a full Lips show. All that bullshit in the past was just meant to make this MONUMENTAL LATE NIGHT SET all the more special. I just hope this one doesn't get fucked up too. I know it won't. The Lips are one of my favorite bands still around, and how that fateful Saturday goes will dictate the rest of my life.
Here's hoping they play a nice 10 minute version of Rainin' Babies. That would undoubtedly by the most beautiful moment of my life.
apparently he had already confirmed they are playing "the big tent". so it's all confirmed, midnight to 2 am. they will not, have not, will not ever play longer than 2 hr. the ufo will be there. in the big tent.

I dont know a whole lot about them, and I have only recently started listening to all their albums. Correct me if im wrong, is this the band that always puts on those shows with people in crazy looking costumes?
I just had a crazy idea.. Our office is divided into 4 "sections" as far as the phone system\PA goes.. and I've hooked my ipod in on a saturday when no one else was here to play tunes throughout the building before..
I'm going to have to try getting each section of the building to play each part of zaireeka...!

Me and some of my buddies listened to Zaireeka last weekend for the first time. Pretty sweet stuff. I think even his dog was feeling the effects of the music, it started burying its head in the couch when the dogs and stuff were barking on one of the cd's.
I'm completely convinced that the FLips are on the 2nd stage. I don't understand why nobody believes me. Not only could they totally fill that stage up but they also have all the tricks to keep that stage bouncing all night long between the 50 ballons, UFO with lasers, Wayne in the ball, the pounds and pounds of confettie they spew all over the crowd, all the people dressed up in funky costumes. Why won't you people come to your senses. Plus I'm pretty sure that the band has hinted at playing the 2nd stage because someone asked them if they were planning on it on there msg. board and they replied by saying that the schedule isn't really concrete but there definitely looking into it.
The Flaming Lips - Which Stage 12:00am to 2:30am Told you so!
