No but seriously, I think the Lips have said there gonna play for 2 and half hours but I'm not sure where I remember reading that. Possibly over on there websites board.

2 and a half hours sounds good to me the longer the better gonna dance my crazy ass off at the flaming lips. have the lips changed there show since lollapalooza last year. i could dress as jesus might piss somebody off tho.
The Flaming Lips usually get involved for it as well. Last time I saw them they had a bunch of really smokin hot girls dressed up as aliens on stage and on the other side of the stage they had a bunch of dudes dressed up as santa clauses. They also for some reason had an astronaut come out before the show and dance during the opener. I have a wierd feeling it was the lead singer Wayne Coyne but who knows. The time before that they had literally like 30 people dressed as bunny rabbits dancing on stage and in the crowd. But yeah we should all get together and dress up for the Lips show. I'm definitely down!!!!!!!! Yes for spiderman and def yes for Jesus because of there song "Thank You Jack White For The Fiber Optic Plastic Jesus". I think I might go as a pirate. I'm gonna have to converse with my Roo-mate and see what we can come up with though.

I don't think they are playing the big tent because the UFO is supposed to be there. Plus Kliph said this is their one summer show

It's a one-off. We're trying to make that one the one of the summer. We'll be doing more shows in late summer/early fall, but that's the only one (in the U.S. any way) for a while.
So it won't be less than two hours and it shouldn't be in the big tent. They're the seventh band on the lineup, they're going to play the Which Stage, just like Primus did in 04, and just like Primus did, they'll probably play 2 hours and 45 minutes, espicially, since its THE show of the summer.

The Show for the flamming lips doesnt mean a long one, thats not their style at all. Probably just jam packed with an interesting set list. I'd be amazed if they went much past 2 hours.
I wonder how difficult its going to be to get a decent spot for the Lips this year. If they are playing the big tent, it might not be as tough as people think its going to be. It makes sense to me that Sasha and John Digweed and Girl Talk play after the Lips, then have Galactic in the Other Tent, and Govt Mule in This or That Tent. I'm not sure which tent is the "big tent". Anyways, any guesses would be good cause if its going be damn near impossible, I'd rather just go to Sasha and Digweed right off the bat.
EDIT- Actually I forgot all about it, I bet Galactic will be a preheadliner tent show with Gift of Gab then after the Lips, Gift of Gab will play a set with Lateef & Headnodic which on Gift of Gab's tour site www.quannum.com/site/ it says that set will be a special set which probably translates to late night. Meaning Sasha and John Digweed, and Girl Talk would get their own tent which definately makes a lot of sense to me
I'm completely convinced that the FLips are on the 2nd stage. I don't understand why nobody believes me. Not only could they totally fill that stage up but they also have all the tricks to keep that stage bouncing all night long between the 50 ballons, UFO with lasers, Wayne in the ball, the pounds and pounds of confettie they spew all over the crowd, all the people dressed up in funky costumes. Why won't you people come to your senses. Plus I'm pretty sure that the band has hinted at playing the 2nd stage because someone asked them if they were planning on it on there msg. board and they replied by saying that the schedule isn't really concrete but there definitely looking into it.

"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
i'm so freaking excited for the Lips, I might just explode in the next month with waiting. When they played roo before it was the most amazing performance i'd been to. I've been a devoted fan ever since (I loved them prior to that, but the performance solidified my desire to see them as often as possible). i can't even fathom missing this show! But I guess that means more dancin' room for me!
