Oh yeah, they could definitely pull out some great anti war, and protest songs together. I just think with Bonnaroo Maynard may do more than just a Tool show. Here is for wishful thinking though with that.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Yeah, I'm kind of with you on not understanding why he didn't open the record with the title track, I think that would have made a stronger statement too. But I guess that's the perks of it being your record
It's almost an unwritten rule that you don't start an album off with a title track. You want people to listen through your album... if the first song becomes a favorite, it won't give people much cause to continue through the entire album.
By title track, I LITERALLY mean title track - as in the Title of the Album if you have a song on the album that is the same as.....a lot of times artist don't have a literal title track and the "title" track in radio speak becomes the first single off the disc....but to me - when you have a song that is the same as the name of the disc - that is where "title track" actually came from... artist used to be a bit more literal - or a bit more boring or unoriginal depending on how you look at it ;D
Audioslave's "Revelations" is a good example of a disc where the first single "Original Fire" wasn't the title track, but the title track "Revelations" actually did open the disc....whether you think it makes a strong statement or not is a matter of opine.....I like it personally. Sets the tone of the disc.

i just want to give a BIG shout out to Chris Cornell:
THANK YOU CHRIS!!! Thank You for leaving Audioslave! you have held back a truly great band for too long. THANK YOU, thank you for giving us our band back! RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE is making a comeback this year and you deserve much of the credit. it began at Coachella and will continue on the "Rock the Bells" tour.
it is also great that Tom Morello has become The Nightwatchman and YOU, Chris, are NOT going to turn his songs into radio-friendly pop. you are not welcome to sing his songs anymore. so go ahead and play "rock star" for as long as you want. in the meantime, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will get back to the important business of telling the hard truth. no cheesy videos and no top 40 hits. we will leave that stuff to you. Thanks again Chris.
