Taciturn, I agree with you, I am a huge TOOL fan though. Ima nip this in the butt and advise not too hate on them or there fans too much. I have learned through the years that their fans do not budge. Let us have our dream, not all of us are bad, my hearts says yes to TOOL, my brain says no to TOOL at Roo. But I will say TOOL fans are usually really down with whats going on in the world and not as dumb as we seem. Maynard knows his politics and preaches a really non-violent attitude. "Monkey killing monkey killing monkey Over pieces of the ground Silly monkeys give them thumbs They make a club and beat their brother down How they survive so misguided is a mystery Repugnant is a creature who would squander The ability to live tonight in heaven Conscious of his fleeting time here" - TOOL

CREAM the Dead Pink Floyd it would be a Miracle Black Sabbath (A lot of heads are down with BS ,hey still have all 4 original members as well as as Cream) Willie Nelson Allman Bros Primus Govt Mule Hank Jr. someone said Hank III hell yeah that would be great too Earl Scruggs Doc Watson Yonder Mountain moe. Robert Randolph North Mississippi Shooter Jennings mabe even some DAC Umphreys Keller Im sure I have left some out
Karma for liking Daft Punk. I've been a fan since the first album. Good stuff.
Right back atcha!
I agree that my 'Roo is somewhat lame. It doesn't really look all that great on paper.
One thing I will say though is that I think Built to Spill would make a great addition for next year. I think that they would fit in relatively well and be well perceived by the 'Roo crowd.
Rock: TV on the Radio, Built to Spill, The Arcade Fire, The Go! Team, Broken Social Scene, The New Pornographers,
Hey, I love these bands. I recently saw TV on the Radio and they completely rocked my world. Plus anyone who likes the New Pornographers and Arcade Fire is alright with me!
Plus, I just have to say, I'm not a huge fan of every single band listed, but the question is what artist do you want at roo, not what you think everyone else would want right? I just got ripped a new one by my sister for not respecting my brother's choices in music, so maybe i'm being a little sensitive here, but it seems like there are some negative vibes around people's selections.
BTW--jambandjohn--your list made me laugh because it seems like exactly the lineup they may have! and attornaroo--holy crap you could work for superfly with how extensive your list was. nice work!
eta: i want to throw in some love for Flaming Lips and Polyphonic Spree--two bands whose shows I never miss when in town b/c they are so much fun to watch

bluevelvet, I think my heart just melted a little when I read your ideal list... I'd pay just about any amount of money to see that.
I would also pay a large amount to see all on my list at one show They are just my ideal for Bonnaroo, and they are mostly what fill my iPod. There are SO many others I would love to see, but they just wouldn't fit in to Bonnaroo i.e System of a Down, Korn, Chevelle, Seether, Weezer (they may fit...), Chili Peppers, White Stripes (they may fit....) etc. etc.
Neil Young Sonic Youth Kings of Leon Secret Machines Ben Harper Jack Johnson The Mars Volta My Morning Jacket Sleater-Kinney Eels Flaming Lips The Black Keys Buckethead Les Claypool Robert Randolph Blues Traveler Porcupine Tree Skinny Puppy REM Sigur Ros The Shins Godspeed You Black Emperor Mogwai G Love David Gray Iron and Wine Cat Power Death Cab for Cutie Modest Mouse Dinosaur Jr. Explosions in the Sky Eagles of Death Metal Fugazi (I wish) Thievary Corporation Wilco White Stripes Tom Freaking Waits (Dream come true) Hank III Ween X Mark Lanegan Muse Meat Puppets Primus Tori Amos Bjork Air Black Crowes Beck Bright Eyes Butthole Surfers Blue Man Group Cake
Friday - Springsteen and the E Street Band - Huge fan, but only became one after their last tour, so I haven't seen them live yet.
Saturday - Pearl Jam - My favorite band (see user name), and I've seen them 4 times already, so I know they would absolutely blow the Bonnaroo crowd away. Routinely play 2.5-3 hour shows when touring, so they would have no problem filling up a headlining slot.
Sunday - My Morning Jacket - Assuming they don't take next year off. It'll be their fifth Roo in a row, and they've definitely earned a spot on the main stage.
Friday: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Saturday: GRAB (seriously awesome at Superjam this year, could do wonders with a headliner slot and the hippies wouldn't be pissed about the headliners) Sunday: Radiohead
The Allman Brothers Band moe. Tom Waits Wilco Gov't Mule Robert Randolph and the Family Band Yes The Flaming Lips King Crimson Tea Leaf Green George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic Primus Perpetual Groove The Benvento/Russo Duo Bella Fleck and the Flecktones The Roots My Morning Jacket Umphrey's McGee Leo Kotke Richard Thompson The Old Crow Medicine Show Zappa plays Zappa

Matt Costa Gnarls Barkley P-Groove Tenacious D 20th Centery Doors (All remaining members of the doors are getting back together) Daft Punk Greyboy Allstarts Gov't Mule Umphrey's McGee Disco Biscuits Galactic Allman Bros. Band J5 The Roots Gorilliaz Frank Zappa Van Morrison Michael Franti & Spearhead Steely Dan STS9 John Mayer Trio Herbie Hanc.ock (they really didn't let me spell his name, that's funny) Neville Brothers Dr. John MMJ MMW Ben Harper + many many more
Well since my ideal Bonnaroo has the world's least likely trio (Phish/CCRevival/U2) I'll stick to a slightly more realistic list, with fewer bands.
Jambands: Dave Galactic String Cheese MMJ Allman Brothers
Classic Rock: The Who Cream (Clapton would suffice) Black Crowes (Are they classic?) Van Morrison
I know I couldn't have all of those, but even two of them would tear up.
Indie-esque: Flaming Lips Beck Sufjan Arcade Fire
Modern rock: Black Keys North Missippi Allstars Muse White Stripes John Mayer (f*ck off , I like his blues stuff.) - Also, to whoever said the trio, the trio is no more, it's Mayer solo now.
Whatever acts: Prince (would blow my mind) BB King Explosions in the Sky Sigur Ros Benevento Russo Duo
Hip hop/hop rock Gnarls Barkley Kanye and if that one guy would just sing Ridin Dirty, and that other one with grillz would sing the Booty song, I'd be set on hip hop for the weekend.
R.I.P Stevie Ray Vaughn Jeff Buckley
Those are just artists I would love to see, if you were to take two from each list (bar the last one, obviously) then I'd be set. I can see three or four of those jam bands I listed being there, though, so that alone could tip it towards me.
