Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I don't know if you guys are fans of Lady GaGa or not, but her legendary disco bra has inspired me. I'm not normally the type to run around in a bra, but bonnaroo can make people do crazy things and I feel like a disco bra would be great for a late night show. I found some cheap costume disco bras on the internet, but this disco bra variation (that is $55 YIKES!) looks super cute and like it wouldn't be too hard to make.
Hi girls - first, thank ya'll for all the fab tips, lists and general smiles from reading all the posts. Bonnaroo is the first music festival we will have ever attended. We start with the best. I've starting augmenting our current camping supplies with all the suggestions ya'll made.
I've looked through the boards and haven't seen recommendations for this, so any help would be great. What are the best chairs to take into Centeroo? I know they can't be any taller than 12" from the ground, but that's all the good scoop I can find. I'd love all thoughts.
I found out last night that my friend has a camelbak she's letting me borrow. AWESOME!!
Oh.. and while I was checking out the Danskin bike shorts I ran across this litte dress. It's really simple and cute.. and best of all CHEAP. I plan on getting one in white and doing a nice little tie dye action on it. I bought a very similar dress at Wal*Mart last year and dyed it... it ended up being my favorite dress of the summer!
Hey ladies!! I'm a long time lurker.. I have no idea why it took me so long to register!
...
Also, have any of yall ever tried putting a hydration bladder in your regular bag? I don't have a camelbak nor the funds to get one... BUT the bladders are only like $10. So I was thinking that maybe I could try that out?
I did that last year and it was a disaster! If you can find a way to jerry-rig the tube/mouthpiece to stay attached to the shoulder strap, you're money. Since I didn't do that, the tube just flapped around and dragged behind me and got dirty. This year I bought a camelbak off ebay, brand new with tags for like $25.00. The mouthpiece was still covered in plastic, but if you have the bladder already, you can buy an empty pack off ebay with no fears of sanitation issues.
ALSO-- I just want to say that this thread is AMAZING. Last year was my first 'Roo and I wish I would have found this before going. You all are so, so, so helpful. I LOVE IT!

I bought some of these last year and dyed them... they turned out great! I wore one to roo last year & got lots of compliments so i started selling them and my customers LOVE them!! Haven't been able to find any around here this year though... so thanks for the link!!!
*re-read the description again... be careful if you order this one online to dye... maybe a typo but it says it's 96% spandex/4% spandex.... pretty sure it's 96% cotton but may want to verify somehow beforehand... dunno about you... but I haven't dyed spandex before

You're totally right about the description. I've dyed a tank with 4% spandex and it turned out fine but anymore than that and I might run into trouble. I'm going to check the one from last year and see what it was made of and compare the two.. I hope it's dye'able!!

Congrats, GFT Ladies! 200 pages, only surpassed by the "Sex at Bonnaroo" thread. I think it's a direct result of how awesome we look at Bonnaroo thanks to this board. Here's to another 200 pages, and thanks for all the advice and tips <3 *swills wine 'cause it's Thursday!*

I got my pin today!!! THANK YOU miss mayo!! I shall wear it proudly
I was bad. I shopped! I've been obsessing over this dress for awhile now, and I finally caved. This girl makes everything to order to your measurements and to your color preference. I got this in just a tad different shade.

Some people just bring a sheet or towel to sprawl out on.. Some make sure to bring a plastic or other waterproof layer for when the ground is wet.. Dollar ponchos or dollar shower curtain liners from the dollar tree are good for this.. Some will get the bookbag/beach chairs, but they can be bulky and stuff can fall out.. They also make light weight (a little over a pound) foldable stadium seats that can be used flat on the ground to give your back a rest. If I do anything other than a sheet this year it will be a stadium seat for $15 in the Walmart camping/sporting goods section, but most people don't bother with chairs. There is just so much walking.

Well i remember reading about it awhile back how it got started but couldn't tell ya how.. except this... by being a part of this thread, that makes you super special awesome.. you can be super duper special awesome by sending miss mayo a request for her to send you a super awesome "gft" (girly fashion thread) pin that you can show off at roo or any other festivities you may encounter....
How do you like the feather hair extensions? Does anyone else have them? I am supposed to be adding some with my haircut and highlights on Saturday. Just curious as to what anyone else thought. Thanks!

I have them. I haven't had any problems, and they look really great. I'm a red head, and I have natural colored feathers with a few turquoise strands. I bought my roo-buddy some violet extensions too. I have thin hair, so sometimes the bead pulls a little, and they are kind of a bitch to put in yourself, but other than that I don't notice them at all.
One of my friends just got a similar extension that was glittery thread put in when she got her hair cut. I wouldn't wear it everyday, but it would be cute at Bonnaroo. I think they are called Bling Strings, and look like tinsel.

I just bought Camelbak last night for $35.95. I had planned to just buy a $10 bladder & put it in an old backpack, but this seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. www.sunnysports.com/Prod/CMLDSN.html
I just bought one from there too! Mine has a bit of packing room, is red white and blue. Its was just a bit more money but sunnysports.com is the best site I found for camelbaks! cheap and the delivery is super fast! I recommend them to anyone. If you are on the fence about one I suggest getting one from here!

Here's something that just occurred to me and I haven't seen addressed anywhere yet... do you guys bring a mirror with you? And would they let you bring a hand mirror in with you, given the glass prohibition? I don't wanna sound totally vain, but I'm not sure my rearview mirror is gonna do it for 5 days!
I brought a small.. Maybe 18 in high hanging wall mirror I got from a thrift store last year... if I wanted to check my outfit with it I could, and it was small and flat enough to not take up space. No one said anything to me about it, but even if they wouldn't let me take it in it was just a couple of dollars.
I'm bringing a small hand mirror and I'll trust my sister to tell me if I look alright otherwise.
Can we talk about crotches for a minute? Just curious about grooming the lady bits at roo. Does anyone wax before you go? Shave while you're there? Let it go and don't give a shit 'cause you're at roo?
My fiancé doesn't care, so I just don't worry about it there. If there was ever a time your skin could get irritated, this would be it, so I would rather have a little extra hair than questionable looking razor bumps.

couple things
-is white ALWAYS a bad choice? I'd assume so, but I just figured I'd ask cause I was thinking about wearing a white tank. -underarmour at night? or leggings? -going commando? (either no bra or no underwear under shorts)

The only real issue with a white shirt is if it rains you may be show more of the girls than planned.. Leggings are perfect to toss in your bag for if you get a chill at night, and I wouldn't suggest going commando because with that much walking in the heat things can chafe. White pants and skirts would obviously be a challenge to keep clean.

as for grooming. i shave my legs before i go and take care of other things beforehand. i take a razor in case i want to shave my legs again but my hair doesnt grow fast.
All lady manicuring is done before we leave and then is totally ignored during Roo. I don't know about anybody else but my time on the farm is so precious I can't bear to waste it. Also, I'm a red head so it doesn't really show.
Also, hot topic has some stuff on clearance including hair extensions, body make up etc. I thought you might really like the fairy wings tattoos but can't get the picture up so here's the link.

I just bought this dress and plan on bringing it to Bonnaroo....
I plan on wearing a floral bikini top with it, and when it gets hot the top is easy to just snap down and turn it into a regular skirt. I usually hate Forever 21, but this was super cute and I'm a sucker for chambray.

Giving my answers to a bunch of people's questions at once:
I usually bring a small mirror (it's around 6-7 inches in diameter) and hardly ever use it. But I do like to have one with me.
As for grooming of ladybits, if I'm walking around in a bathing suit at all I'll end up trying to shave what would show. My hair is dark and that particular hair practically grows back faster than I can shave it, so if it's been more than a day or so I end up not being comfortable in a bathing suit. It's another case of "do whatever makes you comfortable" - nobody ELSE is going to care if you're stubbly, but if you personally care about the stubble that shows, shave it. Or wax beforehand so you won't get stubbly that quickly, or something. As for everything that DOESN'T show in a bikini, I'm thinking I won't shave - for Roo I'd rather have some hair there to absorb moisture and keep me from feeling so sweaty/sticky/gross.
Wearing white...just don't wear anything you want to KEEP white. I can pretty much guarantee you that if I wore white, even if it didn't end up muddy or grass-stained, it would end up with burrito juice dribbled down the front of it. And like someone else said, keep in mind what's going to happen if it rains. If you're cool with showing off whatever you'll be showing if your shirt turns transparent, go for it!
