I have a pair like the first for a go-go outfit - wish I'd got the rubber soled ones like the second. The leather sole doesn't offer much support for a long day/night of dancing.
I'm getting excited! My next purchase needs to be a fedora, but I can't find one big enough for my head. I crushed mine from last year. Any suggestions on fedora shopping for someone with a giant melon? Hehe
I also have the giant melon problem. lol I got a really cute fedora at Walmart in the mens accessory section. It looks really nice on, actually fits my head, and you can't even tell it's made for guys.

I hadn't thought to check there.. I thought about the men's thing, but I didn't expect Walmart's men's section to have them. Thanks!
And mizvalentine.. I had stumbled across those dresses one night and read awesome reviews from just about every shape lady, but when I tried to find them again I couldn't, so I'm so glad you posted the link.
And the wrist wallet looks cool. I plan on carrying a backpack, but as some ladies pointed out earlier you might not want to carry cash in one because someone could get into it easier than other bags. Other than the nasty tan line that would be awesome all day.. And it could come in handy if I happen to be less than clear headed as the night goes on. Haha.
I like that wrist wallet. I would even think about putting something like that on the strap of my backpack for easy access to a few important things. Cash, phone, etc.

Thanks for the advice. The sole was one of the things I wasn't sure about.
Welcome, Mel! I'm pretty new around here too. Thanks for the link!
OK girls, I was thinking about getting some biking shorts for under my dresses.. the kind that wick away moisture ('cause no one wants swass ) but I'm thinking a bathing suit bottom would work the same.. Opinions?

Oh man, now I want to make a pouch of some sort that I could strap to my thigh to wear under my tutu like a holster...sexy outlaw style! I'm pretty sure there's no way I could get it to stay up without it being ridiculously uncomfortable, but that would be a fun way to carry my phone or whatever I needed at night. Oh well.
This would be kinda awesome for late-night Roo or even concerts around town.
Neat! The only think I would worry about is if the zipper breaks I might not notice and I would lose everything.
just wanted to add this little story of good bonnaroo karma and this made me think of it. my girlfriend lost her wallet, a little chain-connected thing, at the coffee shop tent next to the sonic stage in 08. she went back there later and everything was still in it including the 100 dollar bill.

The whole time I was thinking "I could totally make one of those"... except I would call mine a fanny pack for your wrist
I think the biggest issue would be finding a good fabric to use. Something that wouldn't rub or chaff against your skin... maybe with some spandex in it for stretchiness.
Haha... A wallet garter belt under the tutu. Love it!
Madeline.. Swimsuit bottoms vs bike shorts would be a personal preference thing. Both could be breathable, but a common topic on this thread is about the benefits of bike shorts when it comes to modesty and preventing chafing. The other options to prevent chafing are gold bond, monistat, and body glide.
And my fiancé had a small spot that was chaffed on his leg, so I had him try one of the larger blister covers from bandaid on it to walk all day at a race, and he said it was awesome for it. So I would pack some of those for your feet and try them elsewhere if you chafe.
And I found my fedora tonight... $15 at target in the men's section. I've looked there before with no luck, but I guess that since it's getting warmer they are back in stock.
wore a pair similar to these Friday night last year. Wasn't too hot, but they did end up getting a bit muddier than I had hoped- were still wearable afterwards, but they did take some damage. The soles on mine were not very thick, though
I am totally into the infinty dresses, but they are pricey. I found this one on walmart's page and thought it was cute. Has anyone ordered one from here before? I'm not so sure it's a Roo dress, but I was surprises to find a walmart version.

Raincoats?? We've talked about rainboots but what about raincoats? I was thinking about stashing a dollar poncho in my bag because it's small, easy to carry, cheap and it would cover any bag/camera/phone etc. I don't want to get wet... But they can get HOT. Any suggestions? I don't have a raincoat other than a thick, hot, icky safety approved poncho I used on contraction sites.

haha the same thing happened to me (losing the link!). I did a little more research and figured out that all the dresses Alki'i sells on Amazon are from Cyn by Cynthia Mehra, and she has way more cute things on her site:
HOWEVER! The Alki'i Amazon listings are significantly (30%) cheaper than buying direct from her site. But Alki'i doesn't have everything she carries. They did put up some new dresses today on Amazon though, I noticed.
And the magic search term on Amazon (if you forget how to spell Alki'i, like I keep doing, ha!) is "tube dress 7604". 7604 is the collection number for that style...it'll bring up all the tube dresses they have.
FYI one of the dashiki print dresses arrived in the mail today and its not cotton like the others, its 100% rayon, but super light and with a really nice soft silky hand.

they make light weight mesh gun carriers that go on your thigh. i can asssure you that they dont fall because that would be dangerous. the mesh ones tend to have velcro straps that adjust.

Hey ladies!
This will be my first time at Bonnaroo, and I am so excited. It just so happens, that my birthday will be that Saturday, June 11th and I honestly can't think of a better place to be than Bonnaroo!
I was wondering if ya'll had any ideas about what I should do to celebrate? I know this trip will be a blast anyway, but I was just hoping to do something a little special on my birthday. I'm open to any suggestions.
