Only whole sizes. I went up and veryyy comfy. All rubber/rain boot. This includes the heel. However dont think i would go there if ankles turned easily because they flex really well. Liking these alot.
cute bags! Are you able to access the water bottle section without opening up the whole bag? If not, I'd definitely add that - you need to be able to drink water every 30 seconds or so.
Thanks. Yes.. Made the outside pocket big enough for blanket and water. Tried it with two outter pockets but it just got too heavy fully loaded. Though i generally have the water bottle in my hand at all times during the day..
i went to target today. they have some nice bike short type underwear on clearance. not sure exactly what they are called. they are the type that you cant see through. they also had some bike capri pants on clearnance
my question is this....if you wear a dress with the bike shorts under arent you just as screwed at the prota potty as if you were weaing shorts. i mean if i hike up my skirt and then have to deal with the shorts....thats no help. now i get that the bike shorts prevent the chaffing. i got that part.
Yeah... The bike shorts thing isn't so much about the porta potty. I find normal shorts a bit annoying because they ride up and or chaffe. Dresses and bike shorts don't do that, so it is a more comfortable care free feminine alternative to shorts. My only other advice is to try out whatever dress or skirt you are going to wear with the shorts to make sure they don't cling funny. I have had some skirts walk up my legs because they grabbed on to the shorts fabric. Most of the time you won't have an issue though.
Just ordered my SS Dash mini (7 in) 12v flat iron for Roo off Amazon. It heats up to 400 deg and was only $14. I have a mini flat iron with very similar specs that I have used on occasion. The small size isn't great, but it will be an awesome tool to have camping there. I hope it works as well as I think it will. I will let you know if I am happy with it.

Do you really need to flat iron your hair at Roo? Not sure if you've been to TN in the summer but the humidity will probably make it not worth the trouble....
In a word... Yes. I do need something to control my hair. It isn't so that I will have prfectly straight hair... It's to control my ugly frizzy curl/wave so that I don't scare people. As I have discussed before I like to wear my hair down for two reasons... I have big ears that I am self conscious about, and more importantly it blocks the sun. I have had some of the worst reactions to the sun that you can imagine... This one time at band camp... Hehe... I was in the sun long enough for my entire face to be swollen and deformed looking... And I am from Alabama where the summers are every bit as hot and humid, so that is why I know what my hair needs to look presentable.. And by presentable I mean only twice as bad as everyone else's. I figure I will sit in the car with the AC on and let my skin stay dry long enough for at least one good application of Sunscreen For Gingers (SPF 80 aveeno) to stay on and while I wait in the AC I will use the flat iron to tame my hair. It's a smart use of time.

Ok that makes sense I guess I am past the point of caring what anyone thinks of me
Honestly, I am the kind of girl that ALWAYS wears her hair down. I feel like I look better with it down than it up. That being said, I realized my first day at Bonnaroo that I was going to have to get over that fast! The heat alone will kill you if you wear your hair down.
That being said, to each their own. Just wanted to give you the fair warning if this is your first rodeo! You can always wear a hat, bandanas, or cute hair wraps to add some flavor to an up-do!

^^^ good point. I usually wear my hair down but at Roo I do pigtails or braided pig tails - I'm 44 years old and really don't care how it looks I just need to be as cool as possible.
For $14 it gives me entertainment while I'm in the car waiting on the sunscreen to dry... I get bored easily. And I figured there might be someone who would like to know that the product exists and how well it works. If I had it my way I wouldn't have to take extra precautions for the sun, and I'd just throw my hair in pigtails. That is what I usually do camping, but with as little shade as there is at Roo it is tough on me.
I always wear my hair down, partly because, like Annabelle said, to protect my neck from the sun. Though during the day, I throw a bandana or hat on to protect the top of my head - the sun always kills my scalp. And I usually pull the bandana over my ears, which isn't the best look ever, but protects my ears. And my mid-day, I've also pulled the bandana halfway down my forehead. Comfort over cute by that point. I just try to get bandanas in flattering colors.
A note on shorts under skirts. I don't bother. I figure, with all the nekkidness around Roo, someone seeing my undies is the least of my worries. And I like the freeing breeze.
i had the same question about braids as you. a few years ago my hair was longish but not long enough for one ponytail in back. i wanted to wear two ponytails but i was afraid it would be "trying to hard to look young" which i wasnt. the ladies on here were kind enough to encourage me not to worry about that and to be comfortable. i dont think most people care what yo ulook like at roo
hahah the only exception to that are heels. people dog on people with heels at roo. this pains me because i always have an old pair of worn in black pumps that i can RUN in. my feet are more comfortable in a bit of a heel than in flats. flats KILL me over a full day. i would really like to bring my old black pumps to rest my arches but im afraid id be flogged. heheheeh i swear to god that i would outlost most anyone in them.
for those of you with arch issues i do have a tip for you. a couple of times per day sit down with your feet out and pull your toes toward you stetching your calves. this actually takes some of the stress off your arches. now stand up and then squat so that you are balancing on your toes. this stretches the arch out as well. this really does help if you have arch pain upon standing.
Not sure how "pointy" the heels on your pumps are, belltwala, but I'd be more worried about the heels sinking in the mud/grass at Roo than anything else.
I totally believe you, but agree with Julie. Heels sinking is NOT a fun thing. What if you try to find a pair of wedges that are just as comfortable? Or get some inserts to go inside a pair of sneakers?

I wear bike shots under my sundresses. I can beat any guys time in a porto potty. I've been timed.

I do, however, use body glide on my thighs.
How many times do you generally have to reapply throughout the day? I don't care if my bum/panties are hanging out so much, it's going to be damn hot! I just don't want to have chaffing on day 1 and be miserable the rest of the weekend.
Best Thread Find EVER! You all have the greatest ideas! This will be my 2nd Roo- and I'm already super psyched!! Gotta start planning my outfits now! <3

The body glide works pretty damn good. I usually apply in the morning when I get dressed, and once mid-afternoon in festie land. I just throw it in my bag and reapply when necessary, be it in the field or whatnot. In the real world, one application usually gets me through the whole day. - I wear skirts and dresses all summer long. Not a fan of shorts.

Hmm... I can't remember exactly, but I think that when I used Body Glide last year I put a pretty liberal amount on when I got dressed in the morning and then maybe only reapplied once in the afternoon. It seemed to stay on pretty well and I got to walk all day around Roo without any discomfort .

I don't use body glide, but I use gold bond. I take a small travel-size bottle with me into Centeroo and reapply whenever I feel like I need to. I honestly don't care if people see me doing it (just as mayonaise)!
Last year, I also found that Gold Bond is great to sprinkle in your shoes, in my case crocs, when your feet are getting sweaty and/or gross feeling.

I walked on toes as a kid and honestly am FAR more comfortable in heels than flats. The past two or three Roos I have worn boots like the Frye Harness boots. I put waterproof spray on them (got at REI) and they are amazing in any weather, mud, hard TN dirt, protects the ankles from the painful grass. They are lined with sheepskin which wicks away moisture and is cooling. I add new insoles before each Roo.
True heels will be a mess at Bonnaroo, the ground is so unstable, rough and crumbly in one place, cracked and hard another, quicksand-like mud at another. But I can relate to not wanting to be in flats!
i think i have it figured out. ill take my old pumps and wear them at the camp to rest my arches a bit. they are not high at all and dont have a pointed hell. they are just basic low heeled pumps and they feel like houseshoes to me - no lie. yeah
and thanks for the bike short idea. i wasnt sure if they would be hard to get off and on in the porta

^^^This is so true. I use body glide AND gold bond. Here's what I have found: That when it's not crazy hot, the body glide is great - apply once in the morning, take it with me, then reapply maybe once or twice. When it is like, AFRICA HOT, I find that the constant reapplication of the BG hurts as much as chaffing. So I go to GB. (ha! just realized that it's BG v GB ) As JHo says - there is no shame in throwing up your skirt and pattin' on some Gold Bond in the middle of centeroo. Love both options.

i use the monistat and it works. i bought some back up stuff at walmart in the baby area. it was cheaper and in a bigger tube and it works the same. dont go without this product in some form. use it. to not use it can be a big mistake and i dont want to know what they charge for this product at roo

The monistat version of body glide is GREAT. And really cheap at Target. I used it all last year to run in the summertime.
