I love those! A couple of my friends got them recently. They know someone who does it either in Austin or Dallas (I forget), and they are doing this gypsie pow wow thing in Lubbock with us in Aug. I can't wait to get my own!
I want that done in my hair!! Boo for living in MI though. I'll have to try to find someone who does it here.
you should just ask around at salons. my cousin does hair in california and all she does is order them wholesale online somewhere; you could probably order them and do it yourself if you wanted to...

They stay in just like regular hair extensions...there's a little metal tube that goes around some of your hair and the feathers and they just clamp it down tight. there may also be some sort of glue involved...but I don't know for sure.
And I know there are people that do them in Indianapolis, too, so the midwest isn't completely a lost cause. Just Google 'feather hair extensions +<your city>' and see what comes up!
Anyone try Curlformers? I saw a bunch of YouTube videos and checked out the curlformers.com website. They also carry them at Sally's. They are a little pricey, but I am thinking about trying them out because a no heat routine for my hair would be great. I obviously see bonnaroo potential for a curler I can put in at night and sleep in and wake up without the ugliest hair on the planet... Genetics cursed me with ugly hair and big ears, so I hate ponytails. I think I will most definitely try them out some day, but we are trapped in Texas for work and our family lives in TN, so our budget goes so fast to travel. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried them out so I can get as much info before shelling out the cash. I am hoping they aren't so bad to sleep in.

Do they make clip in feather extensions that you can just clip in and take out whenever, more like a hair accessory? I love them, but I don't think I'd be able to get away with wearing them to work. I'd loooove to see some bright colored ones on fellow GFTers at Roo!

I just watched those curlformer videos...I want some! i always have trouble getting my hair to curl and not frizz when I sleep on curlers...but with those your hair is inside so maybe it would work better for me!
Also looks like a great thing for Roo, as long as you don't mind a few extra minutes every night/morning before sleeping.
I saw those curlformers on a commercial once and was very intrigued. I have naturally wavey hair, but it it doesn't do it evenly and gets frizzy. That's a lot of moolah, though.

I recently bought a pair of rain boots in hopes of avoiding muddy toes. Does anyone know how they should fit around the calf? The particular pair I got seem to be snug on my calf. My sister who weighs just over 100 lbs said they are snug on her, too. Is that normal - do some boots fit snuggly, others more loose?

I have some cheap ones from Target and they are pretty huge on my legs. Maybe different brands fit differently?
I have two pair of rainboots. One from Target with a wide top and one from Walmart with a narrow top that look like the Hunter wellies. I like both, but I think I like the narrow top better. The wider top has room to move and rub around on my legs which can be uncomfortable. The narrow topped Walmart ones were purchased at Christmas time to play in the Tennessee snow, and they fit so snug to my legs that I could barely fit my skinny jeans in the leg. As with anything, it is a personal preference on how they fit. The tighter ones were more comfortable, and I walked all through a wooded hilly area. But with the roomier ones I think my legs could breathe more.

I considered taking them back but I've never had a pair and have no idea how they should fit. I was a little worried about them chaffing my legs but they should be ok with a taller sock. They are perfect on my foot, though. The fact that they are so darn cute wins I think LOL

I was going to say this. I usually tuck my jeans/pants in (especially if I'm out at the farm with the horses) and they're still pretty big. That's also with wearing two pair of thicker socks, too!
Buff.com I have had my buff for a year now , amazing! SPF40 and it goes in my hair over my face andything I need. Even wet around my neck. Worth every penny.
The Rootus are so cute! How do you make them? Sorry if this has already been discussed, I couldn't find anything about how to actually make them. I would definitely rock one at Roo!
Not sure how they do it, but both my girls are in ballet, and a simple no sew version is easy. Cut strips of tulle, tie around elastic that fits your waist.
I have a pair of rainboots that I've brought to Roo every year, and I've never worn them. There's always mud on the Farm, and when it comes down to it, I'd rather just wash the mud off my feet rather than have my feet sweat in socks and rainboots.
In other news, I received my latest order from F21 (where I ordered 4 dresses). I think these two dresses would be OK for Roo because they are pretty lightweight. As always, I would wear my bathing suit top underneath.

I have some rainboots from Target and they are fairly loose on my legs...not huge though. I wore them at Roo a couple of years ago and didn't have any problems with them rubbing or anything. I have a picture of me wearing them at Roo somewhere....

Here it is....
Yay for rainboots! I will never go to Bonnaroo again without a pair. Picked up a shorter pair of green ones recently...so of course I had to order matching stripey knee-socks from Sock Dreams for them! Pics coming soon ^_^
I have fairly large calves and always had the hardest time finding rainboots to fit me. I really didn't want ones that were skin tight. Finally last year I found ones at Target that happily were also in a Liberty print. So cute.
But yeah, it was way too hot last year to wear them. I saw so many girls walking around with their boots folded down, which I guess works, but so does just avoiding the puddles. Even in the rain of '08, I was fine with my Crocs.
So if you find them, fab. If not, don't stress about it.
Oh about 18 pages ago got feedback on the day bag -plus what i wanted. Two reasonably decent proto types to figure it all out. It was fun to work through it. Not a pro by any means but i think they will work well.
Here are the final two. Mine and one for my Fiance's daughter (if she wants it). Outside pocket for water proof blanket, and one in front for quick access. Outside clip for misting fan. Super soft straps. Back is lined with extra padding aka pillow. Inside has a side pocket for umbrella, water bottles, and four back bockets for snacks, phones, sunscreen etc. All of the pockets in and out are lined with water resistent cloth. Bottom has extra cushion for camera etc. Has an attached inside zippered little bag for valuables. Also has the benefit of two privy spots that are not viewable without extreme measures should a lady need unmentionables?
Did i forget anything for a Roo day bag? Hoping they will work out well. Made a paper pattern. If all goes well will throw it in a PDF or the like for the handy crowd. Doing the scotch guard sample test tomorrow and if okay will SG as well.
