Its still going to happen but something is really gonna have to give if theres a next time. Things would be way different if this lineup had come out mid May thats for sure.
Remote fests dying constantly, outside of Coachella, Bonnaroo and Electric Forest you pretty much have to be in a city these days right?
FORM Acrosanti sold out in 5 seconds. But it has a tiny capacity and delivered on its lineup. Day For Night was in the city and because one of the co owners was an idiot the event went under. Although they were giving away tickets like candy it shows that you can have a strong lineup on paper but it doesnt matter unless people show up.

I was always impressed with how Day For Night would pull off those lineups. I feel like Texas tours slow down by November, let alone within a week of Christmas. Though I can imagine with how things were ran behind the scenes, the promoters would probably just offer a fat stack to make it work.

At the time you could make a very convincing pitch and these artists got onboard cause they thought this event was the future and hit all the right spots. But on one hand we have seen Kilby Block Party explode and thats in Salt Lake City, so nothing against Houston except maybe the time of the year but it wasnt that expensive to travel there cause it was pre christmas and the rare december fest thats not in california.
Day for Night ended up crumbling because festivals in December don’t work. There’s too many obligations with time off during Xmas time and also, tours don’t normally get booked during the end of the year. They were a money pit from year 1.

Between the Lineups, Afra, and being in December, that festival really never had a shot. I think I paid 175 for 3 days in 2017.

Oh yeah, i got screwed over by Erykah Badu being late to her set so I ran out of time to get to their stage to shoot them so I went to The Faint instead.
And I guess theres an IG comment that Phil states theyre looking for a replacement for Sleep. Thats a nice thought at least.
