Pearl Jam tour dates should be coming today or later this week. I still think they're a big sleeper possibility for this missing headliner slot.
me again with info that is less irrelevant than last time. the ten club forums seem pretty confident that there will be nashville dates in may, but i'm not super familiar with who has the scoops over there so we'll see. i'd give a kidney for pearl jam at roo cause it's hard to afford tickets to their shows these days.
I still hold that 2016 not selling well wasn't really the fault of the lineup. I think there was just a weird combination of economic factors and festival oversaturation in general that year.
If 2016 was the year they booked Dead & Company, then I heard from some deadhead that went (after I said I thought there'd be more of them there) that all were tapped out from some earlier big shows & Bonnaroo was expensive as hell, etc. etc.
Think they really thought the Heads would be there in droves and they weren't. My problem with Dead & Company was that they were making it a point during their tour to not play any song more than once during the tour. Thus, we only got 3 songs I'd ever heard of. Really pissed me off.

For me, 'Truckin', 'Casey Jones' and 'Touch of Grey' are the only ones I really know. I so so so so so wanted to hear 'Uncle Johns Band' and 'Saint Stephen' and 'Sugar Magnolia'. I feel (and this applies to all acts) that when you do a fest, you bring your best stuff, as you will be playing to alot of casual to 'never heard their stuff' fans.

if bonnaroo books Underworld i'll record a video of myself reading Allen Ginsberg's "Howl" in its entirety and post it.
with dreams, with drugs, with waking nightmares, alcohol and cock and endless balls,
incomparable blind streets of shuddering cloud and lightning in the mind leaping toward poles of Canada & Paterson, illuminating all the motionless world of Time between,
Peyote solidities of halls, backyard green tree cemetery dawns, wine drunkenness over the rooftops, storefront boroughs of teahead joyride neon blinking traffic light, sun and moon and tree vibrations in the roaring winter dusks of Brooklyn, ashcan rantings and kind king light of mind,

I need to see this. That's my favorite poem of all time. Book Underworld goddamnit
