my counter would be was Cage the Elephant surging in popularity this time last year?
no but Cage has been popular for over a decade, they would've been a 2 any year since like 2018, not a 14. Not saying Mt Joy wouldn't be top 5, but I'm not sky is falling them as a sub either
It made sense in comparison to the lineup we got, but I remember thinking Cage would be a 3 last year. One of their last shows before that was a sub below Marshmello at Float Fest in 2022. Then with the lack of buzz around them late 2023, I thought they’d slip a spot.
I do believe Glass Animals will be a 2. I thought they could ascend to headliner with a couple more hits; but then the album didn’t hit. But in 2021 they were already a 5 (bumped to 4), and that was before Heat Waves became one of the biggest songs in the world.

All over. Just heard from one who went to Emeril’s new Portuguese restaurant with his wife before hitting Nickel Creek. Others are elsewhere and you are where you are chewing those bamboo stalks. I’m buried under a blanket freezing my ass off in Florida at my house. I got the heat at 72 but it’s upstairs and so is the thermostat. So it never works the way I want it to. I’ve seen LCD twice and King Gizzard twice (in person). I like them both but I feel like you have a better chance at riskier shit with King Gizzard. You know what you’re getting with LCD, and it’s going to be good. But it’s not going too far outside of its boundaries.

This question’s gonna be random af but what’s the deal with Slayer? Could they show up? I feel like I’m down to get my shit rocked on a crisp Bonnaroo night. Also would they have to take a #1 or could it be a late night Which show

They once played Bonnaroo. And I was at that bitch having had to leave a MMJ What stage long show because they changed the time earlier for Slayer. And someone tripping gave me further bad info that they moved it up even earlier. So I sat and waited listening to Childish off to the left which was alright but a more gospely show. Then Slayer came on. Wasn’t maybe as good as when they played Voodoo the year before in 2014 but still a solid 8/10 show. I’m trying to think back on the hardest rock shit I’ve seen there. Tool, Gojira, Bad Brains and Slayer are some of them. But like I said I was tired as shit. I’m not sure what I saw after - MMS&W maybe if that was the same night. But I remember passing out and waking back up solo like 3x at Which for Bassnectar. That was a wild day coming off a two week festival and travel binge. Moral of the story was I sat outside the tent smoking and drinking and admiring a crowd I should have been in the middle for. Reality dictates.
Edit to say I missed the last 2/3 of Jacker, Atomic Bomb and Tycho. It was Slayer into Bassnectar. I walked around a bit after listening to D’Angelo and the PL Superjam once I caught 2nd wind.

not to change the subject completely but have you been to Furnace Fest

I haven't but I might since it's coming back again next year
I kinda don't think one of the 3 is Fisher because that would be super redundant with Dolla and Summit. Tiesto, disclosure, stranger, LTC all feel super unlikely imo. Khru and Barry out. That leaves:
Justice Sara Landry Worship Of the Trees Mochakk
Of The Trees is the only one of those 5 I wouldn't want to see at least a little. My final guess for our 3 is Justice/Of the Trees/Mochakk
Mochakk seems like a good guess. Played Where in the Woods 2022.
Hozier checks off pretty much all boxes of being a headliner. Pretty wide appeal, all three of his albums have charted in the top 3, 46m monthly listeners, plays arenas, has a handful of songs that most people recognize and can sing along to.
