Also circling back to the Roobus(?) podcast, having to pay an act more cause they're in Europe probably leads to 3 things
1. Gizz (which has a rumor) 2. LCD Soundsystem (which would be purely vibes) 3. Another act late in the game we don't know about, or someone that'll be in Europe and we don't know yet (Benson Boone/RtJ/Glass Animals/etc)
My hopes aren't high but I haven't given up hope yet.

Justice is around enough to suggest they're probably booked, but saying something like "you guys sound really excited about...(Inforoo bands)" is EXACTLY what you'd say to very online Inforoo people if you know you booked Glass Animals and Mt Joy really high on the lineup.
Brad seems like the exact type of person to tease two hugely popular and very requested acts just to drum up buzz and presale tickets even if they aren't actually on the lineup. He works for livenation afterall.
I still hold that 2016 not selling well wasn't really the fault of the lineup. I think there was just a weird combination of economic factors and festival oversaturation in general that year.

i agree that was a part of it, but i also think LCD/Pearl Jam/Dead & Co was just a real "old guy" collection of headliners.
IMO a Roo lineup is magical when it hits three things:
1. Something for the kids 2. Something for the olds 3. Something connected to Roo's roots
Also LCD's arena-level popularity was always a mirage. They are one of my favorite bands but I think the break up show at MSG and ensuing documentary made them seem like they were the biggest band in the world and they just never were.
one other thing regarding 2016 (because i never get tired of talking about 2016): strangely Dead & Company was less popular then than they are now. There has been a really cool resurgence of appreciation for the Dead's music over the past several years. Hell even my wife, long-time hater of all things jamband, admitted to me over Thanksgiving she has started to enjoy the Grateful Dead.
I say it a couple of times a year and I’ll say it again. I really regret not going in 2016. After a 7 year run I had decided I needed a break. Then the lineup dropped and I loved it. But I foolishly was like “I’m sticking to my word” What a dumb dumb.
