Yeah, this is gonna unfold in something bigger. Gaza is never getting back like it once was, not even the open prison it has already been for over a decade..
Iran and loads of other Arabic countries ready to jump the gun and all of them Western countries taking the side of Israel whilst defending Ukraine. Hypocrits.
You lost me on the bolded part. I don't get what's hypocritical with the responses or whether they are even comparable. Russia attacked Ukraine (plenty of soft-civilian targets early) and whose current government is hostile to all of the western governments (except perhaps Hungary) and represents a legitimate threat to free countries within Europe. Hamas attacked Israel, primarily innocent civilians. Russia bombing Ukraine and Hamas launching thousands of missiles and crossing the border into Israel to take hostages are the sparks for both current escalations. They're also unrelated events and circumstances except for some of the alliances involved.
Were you making a point about the atrocities both citizenries (Gazans and Ukrainians) are facing and that in some way the support/responses should be the same?
Netanyahu's newly formed fascist govt has been heavily criticised prior to the attacks of last week 'in' Israel. There have been protests for weeks in Tel Aviv asking to step down and/or for change. Prior to the events of Hamas, Netanyahu was informed by Egyptian authorities that they were planning something. It's always the same. It's always weird that beforehand they don't know what struck them, but after that they know full well where Hamas-members are hiding (and even if it's not, does that make Israel stop doing ware crimes.. looking at that they just destroyed a hospital full of people, apparently not).
Also Russia has massacred tons of cities and towns in Ukraine (what do you mean 'soft civilian targets?) and has done a ton of war crimes against in Ukraine? It's like people forget this ethnic cleansing and colonization has been going on for generations - not last week. According to international law, Palestine is under siege for years. The international community just allows it to happen.

Soft/civilian targets refers to non-military and non governmental strikes - schools, places for worship, malls, markets, apartment buildings, etc.
I’ve said many times I don’t support Likud or a right-wing Knesset - never have and never will. I think I understand you now in that you’re talking about and comparing support for the respective regimes and not the responses to the invasions. That’s what I couldn’t extrapolate so I asked. I don’t disagree.
Obviously not true. There is no electricity in Gaza, so this is an old video.
Yep. That’s a videos from 2022. The real video is here.
I wouldn’t put it past them, but is Twitter really a good source of realtime information? Seems like everything I’ve read about the transformation into a misinformation and disinformation platform was pitched by some white supremacist former Trump speechwriter to Musk who has followed the recommended path. Israel disputes they targeted a hospital. Hamas says it wasn’t them either. Could be an errant missile or air strike by Israel. Could be a failed missile from Hamas. A lot of people got sucked in by supposedly beheaded babies. I tend not to trust much of what gets posted from there unless it’s a legitimate news source. This seems intentional. Even the tweet itself “this is the moment Israel struck a hospital with a bomb” (all caps) from a modified name from Game of Thrones character. Again I’m not disputing the validity, and clearly hundreds have died as a result of whatever happened. But the smell of Twitter is almost always suspect to me. Maybe this is a legit journalist account?

Yeah, it absolutely can be a great source for real-time info. Depends on who you follow and how discerning you are. Like there is plenty of shit I've seen I'd never post in here until it's actually confirmed but there are posters I've followed for a decade or so that I trust and would share info from. Other citizen journalists that are good for updates but have clear bias, etc. But sure, you can get tricked especially with shit like this were it's a tornado of misinformation. I should say that most of the misinformation and deleted Tweets I've seen are coming from Israel or their bootlickers on this one. Probably a couple 4chan idiots mixed in there. Then again, Israel has more money to spend on Communications too.
The video Zig posted has been confirmed by The Post. Also, Israel is saying it was Islamic Jihad so more associates of Hamas but, if true, they are likely communicating at this point.
It's hard to blame Al Jazeera(who I quoted earlier) for their reporting here. If this somehow wasn't Israel it's an insane act of chaos in an uncaring universe. The basic assumption would be Israel would be the only player capable of having bombs that could destroy part of a hospital and kill over 500 people. I'm no munitions person but it has to be extremely rare for an occupied/fenced in militia force to obtain the ways and means to get rockets with payloads this size. That they had one and it misfired and hit a hospital that Israel has threatened for days is pretty crazy. It's also nutty that one of Bibi's online comms dude wrote and quickly delated a tweet bragging about killing Hamas in a hospital. The fact that people were sheltering there can help explain a higher death count but it doesn't really explain the size of the explosion. And I have a hard time believing that in all these coincidences the errant rocket also hit a cache of weapons or fuel or whatever. Condensed oxygen makes some sense but all hospitals are running low on supplies and I have a hard time believing that could be the main culprit.
Regardless, there is video of a volley of rockets being shot that Israel is putting out. Some were taking down because of wrong timestamps but one seems be to be legit. We probably will never know the whole truth given the situation on the ground there. And it probably doesn't matter at this point. People will believe what they want. The damage is done and shit is real bad.
Didn’t Israel already take responsibility? And then deleted all their tweets after it came out they slaughtered 1000 people there?
I edited to add that. Haha.
He's some kind of online influencer but he works for the Israeli government doing some online press bullshit role. So yeah, he gets inside info no doubt.
There are claims of other posts but that's the big one going around.
Thanks. I trust what you put out there because you take time to know what’s what. I don’t have the patience so I just don’t much look at tweets. Plus not having accounts makes it complicated to get beyond one or two screens. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of shit. Blinken said today that the differentiation from terrorists is not to be them and take account if you fuck something up. Anyway plenty of dead people who didn’t deserve to go. It’s going to get uglier.

Don't want to post the tweet because of dead babies in it but doctors at the hospital say the head of the hospital received a call from the Israeli military yesterday.
"We told you to evacuate twice."
Evacuate to fucking where? It's a fucking hospital.

They fired warning shells at it Saturday. They have been threatening hospitals from early on. There's plenty of evidence of this. They've also already killed and injured various emergency responders and healthcare workers. Around 20 attacks against various healthcare places.
Like this isn't some new thing. Them acting all innocent like they would never do this is bullshit and goes against their own past statements. It was always the plan to bomb these places because they claim Hamas has bases there(they likely do at some I would assume).
It's extremely hard to give them the benefit of the doubt at the moment. They basically follow the same playbook as the US Military and I don't buy what they are selling often either.
Edit: Ohh, now they've blew up a bakery. One that was supposedly functional and providing food for people. Very good.
If it was a sabotage, I wonder if it will draw any backlash against (presumably) Islamic Jihad? With satellites and surveillance we have and probably the Israelis and EU as well, they should be able to determine the origin of the missile/bomb - not immediately since nobody can really get on the ground to investigate. But there ought to be enough spy/visual evidence at least to point the finger at something at least until they can confirm compounds/explosive material.
ive just seen something about how biden says that the US Dept. of Defense says that the data indicates it wasn't Israel. that is a far cry from any sort of confirmation IMO.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Neither Reuters nor Al Jazeera is saying it definitely is. According to Reuters, some Western countries have called for an investigation without pointing fingers at this state. Arab states have blamed Israel.
WHAT HAVE THE PALESTINIANS SAID?
Palestinian officials have blamed Israel.
Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian militant group that is an ally of Hamas, denied that any of its rockets were involved in the blast, saying it did not have any activity in or around Gaza City at that time.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said the United States was responsible, saying Washington had given Israel "the cover for its aggression".
The health minister of the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority blamed Israel for what he called a "massacre".
WHAT HAS ISRAEL SAID?
Israel has denied it was to blame and said the blast was caused by a failed rocket launch by Islamic Jihad.
An Israeli army spokesperson said an analysis of the operational systems of the Israel Defense Forces indicated that a barrage of rockets was fired by militants in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the hospital at the time it was hit.
"Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza."
A military spokesperson said there was no structural damage to buildings around the hospital and no craters consistent with an air strike. The spokesperson said Hamas had inflated the casualty numbers and said the group could not know as quickly as it claimed what caused the blast.
The military said some 450 rockets fired from Gaza had fallen short and landed in the Gaza Strip in the past 11 days.
WHAT HAS THE UNITED STATES SAID?
Biden pointed the finger of blame at Palestinian militants.
Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden said: "I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion of the hospital in Gaza yesterday, and based on what I've seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you."
WHAT HAS THE ANGLICAN CHURCH SAID (fwiw it's their hospital)?
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Anglican church, said: "This is an appalling and devastating loss of innocent lives. The Ahli hospital is run by the Anglican church. I mourn with our brothers and sisters."
"I renew my appeal for civilians to be protected in this devastating war. May the Lord God have mercy."
WHAT HAS BEEN THE REACTION IN THE REGION?
The strike has enflamed Arab governments and groups in the region. Protesters took to the streets in several Arab countries denouncing what they said was an Israeli strike on the hospital.
Jordan's King Abdullah blamed Israel for the blast and his country cancelled a summit it was to host in Amman on Wednesday to discuss Gaza with the U.S. president and the Egyptian and Palestinian leaders. Egypt also blamed Israel.
In Lebanon, Iran-based Hezbollah, which fought a war with Israel in 2006, denounced what it called Israel's deadly attack and called for protests on Wednesday. The Beirut government declared a national day of mourning.
