About one week out from lineup announcement and feel like we know way less than in past years... if anyone is sitting on any scoops/educated guesses it's now or never!

This is by design. It's working on me too, I think. My head is in the clouds and I'm trying to be realistic and stay grounded. The hype is real this year.
paintedhighway scoops are really all we have to go off of this point. I usually pick up a few rumblings at Hopscotch and I'll pass them on if that continues.
Thank God I have a festival this upcoming weekend to take my mind off it for a few days.
RFID WRISTBANDS / ONLINE REGISTRATION This year, the Big Ears experience will be enhanced by the introduction of RFID wristband technology, helping to facilitate access to venues as well as offering more accurate information as to attendance and capacity at our venues. Wristbands will be mailed to most attendees prior to the festival and will enable you to register for the festival online so that you can hit the ground running and start checking out shows as soon as you arrive in Knoxville!
Fingers crossed for John Zorn leaking his birthday bash this year.
Seriously though. I'm hoping for a teaser today to hold everone over till tomorrow. May not happen but a boy can dream.
I just saw my 2nd round of “Zorn @ 70” this past weekend (Minneapolis)! I have a feeling we’re going to see a lot of Marc Ribot this year… though maybe they’ll wait until next year (Ribot @ 70).
I’m especially curious about the extra ticketed events they mentioned…
Has anyone received their “previous buyer” code yet?

Not yet. I feel like we got it the day of the presale last year but I truly don't remember 100%.

I've been a donor in previous years, but personal finances + the increased ticket & hotel prices eliminated that option... So I normally had a code a little bit in advance; I guess I should expect this year's to arrive Wednesday morning!

Are you doing SE this year or gonna try a different route? Lineup pending, obviously.
I didn't go nuts at Hopscotch this year (I stayed away from record stores) and have the cash for a premier but waiting to see what it looks like first before I make that call.

I feel a little ridiculous saying this, but I don't think I would attend the festival without the reserved seating / special entrance (tiny line) that we get at the Sonic Explorer level. I try to create a schedule that allows me to see complete sets within a small cluster of venues, but even then, I find myself being VERY grateful that the seating benefits give me. So the line-up reallllly has to be good this year, to justify the 4-figure cost. Otherwise, I'm out until 2025.

Totally fair. The seating is clutch in those smaller venues and I'm sure being up close in the theaters is incredible. Before they introduced that perk, I was front row for Television and that seating in the Tennessee Theatre alone made for one of my all time favorites from Big Ears.
While I always hope for a good line-up, this makes me hope extra hard for you.
Still early. They have a few hours to play with this and add that stuff. We haven't gotten the press release yet.
We did get an Eno and I'm stoked for that. Now I'm trying to figure out if Unwound is worth another $300 for SE or not but assuming they'll play in The Standard or Mill + Mine.
