Roo is a hard fest to do…the conditions and camping can be brutal. I’ve given them them the benefit of a doubt in prior years, but this is just embarrassing.
It sucks that the first time they don’t book a dog shit electronic lineup they somehow fuck up the rest of the lineup. This will easily be the youngest crowd Roo has ever had.
Why take 4 days off work, spend close to $900, and drive 12hrs for a lineup this sub-par? Hopefully this doesn’t sell and they just chalk it up as a loss and come back something better next year.
1.) even though you hate the lineup the youngest crowd bonnaroo has ever had = $$$
2.) 2016 there was so little people i can't stress how easy it was to get between stages and how much moving room there was in a big crowd. i can be wrong but with humanity having a craving to just do anything after being bogged down by restrictions in some capacity in the last two years i doubt there will be another year like that. plenty of people will want to go no matter what the lineup is and others will want to go because they have an attachment to just one or two artists on the lineup and want to hang out with their friends. there are god awful lineups, but this one isn't so awful they lose so much money and have to rethink their strategy. the closest they've gotten to switching it up to make more money was 2019 lineup or booking radiohead in 2006 to create a more mainstream festival
the lineup isn't for you. you've made that clear. go to a different festival. there is so much negativity in daily life these days. just find what you like and love the hell out of it and share that with other people instead of moaning on a message board.

How were the new Gecs songs live. They look awesome on YouTube.
fuckin sweet. i love shut your piehole. i saw them in louisville a couple of months ago and it was a lot of fun. the new songs have a real license to kill-era beastie boys rap rock vibe. if you're a gecs fan they're definitely worth it live. can't wait for the bonnaroo mosh because bonnaroo crowds are so fun. i remember seeing a video from a bonnaroo promoter talking about how slayer 2015 was one of his favorite sets ever because he saw so many different kinds of people come together to watch one metal act and embrace it

MEMEME left a huge impression on me. Went home with it stuck in my head so I was happy they dropped that one first. The other two (or three? I cant rmemeber) new songs were all rly good too. There was another one that was on par with MEMEME if not better with Dylan rapping in the mic thru autotune rly quickly. It was freakin awesome.
I just hope their setlist/show changes up a bit before roo. The xylophone thing for example was wild seeing it the first time but some new stuff for the ppl who saw em already would be nice.
*J Cole sucks *Hell yeah Stevie Nicks *1984 is one of the 3 or 4 best years in music, that's gonna be a killer Superjam *Tame Impala's tour dates have a giant gap between June 11 and August 25 and they didn't rebook them?
I'm getting weirdly excited for ßuicideboyß, did not see that coming
They aren't that great IMHO, but their shows can be insane as far as over-the-top hype. No chance they won't have at least a couple of guests come up and rap with them.
The lineup is not for me. But I’m not going to trash anyone that likes it and wants to go. Find another festival. It’s that easy.
This. Not going to say this is some horrible lineup. It's just not sparking a lot with me really. Like I mentioned previously, maybe this is the year outside lands or ACL or Lolla get visited for the first time.
Edit: Vieux, your like reminded me that Voodoo came up when I was having lunch with alawre today. If it was still around, it would be on the possible list for sure.
and I did not enjoy their shows. 21 savage had these terrifying, really low quality visuals of skulls and glocks and blood splatter that repeated every five seconds that made for some not-so-great vibes and he didnt rly rap too very well. J Cole was the worst headliner ive ever seen. Total snooze fest not a single person in the crowd was moving and he didnt even have visuals. Literally rapped on an empty stage. Roddy was okay from my pov but my friends (who are big fans) dragged me to the show said afterwards it was disappointing to them.

I saw them at Lolla 17' because they came before Migos and holy quack were they good. Whole crowd was a mosh pit but the suicideboys fans who were running them were really friendly and respectful. My friend lost a shoe and some dude like 15 rows up walked back thru the crowd holding it up so my friend could see it.
Didnt know a single suicideboys song and I left a huge fan. Best rap set of that weekend imo

is it the music of the year 1984 or covering van halen's 1984? cool either way but i read into it as a van halen tribute. guess we don't have a definitive answer right now

I think it's going to be very similar as the 2015 superjam but focused on 1984 instead of the 80's. Curious who might sit in on this one.
Anyone know (generally) how accurately one can make a clashfinder based on the initial lineup? The one Bing made would be phenomenal for me if that was close.

I figured he was just gonna be on a stage reading pages from the hit book 1984

They could have just booked Unchained if they wanted an idea that bad

Jack and Bruce are friends, Bruce is on the latest Bleachers album, and Born in the USA was released in 1984.
Maybe Roo saved all their budget to get Bruce in the Superjam lol
